Where do you think Salford will finish at the end of the regular season, and why?
My heart says 1st-3rd, but my head says 4th-6th.
Whilst we appear to have a bit more depth this season, it might take a while for our new players to gel and I can't help but think that the lack of Hastings will result in a couple more losses than last season.
There are certainly worse teams than us, so hopefully we aren't lingering towards the bottom half of the table. I'm not worried about that in the slightest.
I would love to see us have a good run in the Challenge Cup, which might realistically be our best chance of silverware.

Excuse me for being thick, but I am struggling to make it work. I wanted to vote for 4th to 6th, but I think I ticked the box next to "where will we finish at the end of the season". Never done one of these polling things before.

I think 7th but not because we’ll have a ‘bad’ season but because it will be a much more competitive year and we’ll just miss out on the top 5. I’m looking forward to it and think it will be an enjoyable season but we have lost a couple of key players and other teams have strengthened as well. A good cup run would be good.

Confident of top 6, not so of top 3. Ergo 4th-6th

I’ve gone for 4th to 6th but my head tells me 7th to 9th. I think we will struggle to break defences down week in week out, esp when Brown is injured so I expect a number of narrow defeats. Also it will be a really competitive year
St Helens - still the team to beat Wigan - Jacko should push them to be the 1st runner up behind saints but he doesn’t have an obvious partner of the quality of Lui/Tui. They are also very dependent on their young forwards fulfilling their potential to give their pacey back line the space to play Hull - recruited really well and have a scary team on paper. But they play in the East Riding and could be brilliant or woeful Warrington - I think they will struggle. Blake faded badly last year. Whiddop injured already. Still got plenty of quality though. Competing with us for us for 4th to 6th Wakefield - if they can stay fit they should be somewhere near top 5 Cas - could go either way. Can’t see them finishing above 4th Huddersfield - even with Sezer I think they will struggle. Bottom 4 Catalans - don’t think Maloney will cure there ills but will win them some games - Safely mid table Toronto - I don’t see the strength in depth. Mainly a team of top champ/lower SL players (with a v obvious exception). But people said that about us last year.... Leeds - another difficult year. Mid table Hull KR - my favourite for the drop. Despite having a top coach I can’t see them routinely beating the rest

I've gone 7th-9th, think that Brown is an astute signing but will not go through the season without injury as Jacko did last season. For me that's why we need Atkin or Jones on the bench as interchange hooker, get enough of a lead and I'd be pulling Brown and getting them on, keeps him safe and gets them game time in the halves.
Our pack is awesome and I honestly think it's comparable to any in the league. Put it this way if we get bullied this season ar$e$ need to get kicked.
We also have some decent strike in the backs but I'd still like a bulldozer centre.
I think that Huddersfield look like dead men walking and get the feeling someone like Cas will do a Leeds and struggle as I think Warrington will, Widdop has bones made of soggy digestives and think they've bought him in to deliver the title.
I agree with others though that think we have a cup team, I'd be disappointed if we don't get to the last 4 at least.

I’m guessing 7/8 place. So much depends on injuries. It certainly looks a more competitive league this time, and last year was plain weird. One massive runaway leader and a very compressed league with very little between 2nd and bottom. Things are likely to be much more spread out this time. Even with the same number of wins we could come 4th or 5th if other results are more like normal.

I've gone 4th-6th but I'd have preferred 5th-7th as the range as think we'll likely be around 6th/7th.
I think even if we slightly underachieved this year we've still got too much quality to be dragged into the relegation dogfight.
Oh and agree about a decent cup run. However MR, a semi-final place really does require luck of the draw as well as we could well go out at the first attempt if we get a $hit draw.
Hudds, Toronto & KR bottom 3 for me. Hudds need their young kids to come good who've got decent potential and they may be ok but I can't see past TW & KR for the wooden spoon as they're really weak on paper.
