So apparently the club have been approached by someone to be the main shirt sponsor. As a result those who entered the draw were contacted to see if they wanted to remain in to be the shirt sleeve sponsor. Winner has now been drawn: www.salfordreddevils.net/cannon-win-red-devils-sponsorship-draw/Bit rubbish for those who stumped up a grand but cracking news for the club. Wonder who the new sponsor is?

Gotta be a big name for them to do that to the companies who had entered the draw

Morson Group as far as I’m aware.

Morson Group as far as I’m aware. Makes sense as his names all over the shop already being the Sale owner. As we've always said success brings its advantages, a nice cup run next year to cement our new found marketability would be ideal.

I think that’s our target next year - a good cup run. It was the target this year but we ended up with a decent plan b when that failed!

A Salford born sponsor with assets at 170 million. I see the Salford Reds arising

Good news. I was disappointed we were auctioning the main shirt sponsor. The idea was good given the circumstance, but it felt awful we couldn't attract a decent offer for shirt sponsorship. Glad the season is now being rewarded.
Maybe a first-step towards more investment? We can hope. With the current backroom and Watto as Head Coach, it'd be great to see what we could build over the next 2/3 seasons if the full cap was available to us. Bring the right players in, gradually.

When I read that Mitsubishi had only been paying £30,000 I was shocked, that is just not good enough for a SL team.
Hopefully this years success story means we won't be selling ourselves short any longer.
I have long maintained that a RL should be in the ears of Red Bull, a fast action packed game played by supreme athletes is right up there street.

Didn't realise the Mitsubishi deal was so low. £30,000 for a super League team seems extremely low to me. I wonder what other clubs are paid
I just hope this sponsorship leads to further investment. They said on Sky we had the second lowest budget in the league this year. I assume London were the lowest. With Toronto coming in, we'll likely have the lowest budget. There's still a part of me that fears for our future if we can't secure more investment or attract a larger crowd.

The auction was originally for the main shirt sponsor but things seem to have changed. Morsons were grand final day team sponsor so makes sense. Highest watched final and probably due to the success this year there will potentially be a few more televised games.
In demand, entertaining, marketable team, who'd have thought it, fingers crossed we crack on and keep building the momentum.

Much work needs to be done in the off season on the match day experience, it is still middling at best, terrible beverages and rank food.
We now have started to make memories at Barton and we need to carry on doing so.
A favourable home game to start the season, a Sunday afternoon against a team with fans that travel in numbers and market the hell out of it to get as many of the floaters who went to OT down to Barton.

Please MR don’t say that match day experience bolloxs. Most fans have a drink before hand get to the game a few inside and watch what enfolds. I don’t care about pre match halftime or post match. My match day experience is that the game.

It's new fans we need to work on. If that means decent beer and grub, face painting and helium balloons and a band at half time, then I'm all for it. That shouldn't spoil your day.

You can't attract people who already attend, you need to engage with new ones.
