Regards the last Sky deal. Nobody knows what was said behind closed doors. It's a conspiracy theory, so probably bollox, but ... What if Sky said to Super League something like, "You can accept our offer of 80 million now, but if you go to tender, we'll only bid 40 million." (I don't know the actual figures. 80 and 40 were just for illustration.) I think it was a safe bet that nobody else would match even the lower figure, so what would you do? For context, I dislike Sky intensely and think they have bought our game and ghettoised it.

Would that be legal? I don’t know, it’s a genuine question.

For context, I dislike Sky intensely and think they have bought our game and ghettoised it. I think that is pretty much exactly what happened. The RFL said they’d done some soft market research and came to the conclusion that the sky offer wasn’t going to be outbid so they took it. Not great long term thinking in my opinion - just pushing the problem back a few years. But I can see why they took the bird in their hand and saved the costs associated with tendering for what might have ended up a smaller deal Now it is SLs responsibility. I don’t see them doing anything to improve the position. The RFL are at least developing streaming options through the our league app and looking at the North American market. I’m not clear what SL are doing to enhance their value RL fans might follow to premier and the free view element would be welcome (sky have one too) but it will struggle to get much traction with the general public on there. BT is getting more popular and might be a genuine competitor and has a decent budget. But it’s v heavily in bed with the RFU and they may not want to risk that and I’m pretty sure the BT viewing figures are dwarfed by Sky’s I hope that there’s lots of competition to show RL but I’m not convinced there will be

Would that be legal? I don’t know, it’s a genuine question. I doubt it would be illegal. Partly depends on the terms of the previous contract and how much evidence the RFL have for it being a proper business decision. Someone could claim restricted practice or that a monopoly situation had been created, then it would be down to the regulatory bodies/courts to look at it

Are all play off games going to be played on a Thursday or Friday then?
Might not be the best for everyone else but a bonus for me otherwise I'll miss at least 2 (assuming we get 2 games).

We're only 2 points behind them. Personally think we'll end up 5th. Catalans look done and Castleford got shocking run in.

Come let's have some positive vibes. Injury free for the halves then 3rd. Us to beat Wire, Cas to beat Hull. Wire 5 days after the Final, (also have a tricky game with Wakefield) Leeds the tricky one but they're safe and nothing to fight for. And Hull kr...going down?? Get our Marketing team onto this.
