I really wonder sometimes what our fans are on when talking about players being sold or let go to other clubs and what a disgrace it is. WE HAVE NO MONEY. It is a miracle that we are still here and competing. It’s another rebuild next year, no superstars just hard working players who have a point to prove in some cases and others who see Salford as a stepping stone to bigger and better things. It will always be this way with maximum crowds of around 4K. I applaud IW IB and the board for having sense and not going the pay over the top route for average players of previous management. Not sure to whom you are referring but it certainly shouldn't be me. I've already said I have no problem letting Sau go now. I'm just asking HOW WE HAVE NO MONEY... Our wage bill is covered and then some by the RFL. We pay no rent on our ground. If we have 2000 season ticket holders lets call that £150 quid each taking into account juniors etc giving us another £300,000. Catalans at home is always going to be a poor cash week so lets say £15000 per home game? Another £195,000. Squad builder? £60,000 if i remember correctly. Not to mention sponsorship, golden gamble, merchandise (I know, I know...) I'm just playing devil's advocate here but nobody seems to have the answers. beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08371113/filing-history

The devils advocate thing is overrated, trust me,I know ! I think the reason for lack of response is that nobody’s interested. It is what it is, and knowing greater detail wouldn’t change a single thing, nor could we influence it

A club that asks it's fans for money to sign players because they are skint SHOULD be transparent in the books rather than take the easy option.

Just posted the link to the accounts - they are publicly available. You can’t get hold of specific salary information in this country except on the odd occasion that it leaks out (e.g. we know Lui was on £160k and that Lolohea is on just over £190k with Leeds paying just over £30k of that).

Yes,I looked at the accounts but they use the small company exemption so very little detail, apart from a charge being put on the club and then discharged. Didn’t study it closely as it’s probably part and parcel of being hand to mouth !

Look, i'm not suggesting there is something untoward in the accounts, only that they should be more detailed.

Yeah I think thats as good as you are going to get but it’s better than nowt. Beyond that you’d have to get into commercially sensitive information and people’s salaries. Unless I see Blease pulling up in a Bentley I’m content that they are doing the best they can with what they have.

Ok Vulcanone here’s my quick off the top of my head of what our huge income is spent on. I find it hard to believe anyone thinks it’s really just player wages but just in case you’re being serious here goes:
Player wages (you can add 15-30% to headline wage depending on pension arrangements and NI contributions. Probably not much if any pension contribution so at lower end of that) Staff wages - blease, Watson, Gleeson (replacement), fitness and conditioner, performance analyst, doctor and physios (3 I think), back office staff - 6ish I think but a couple might be covered by foundation. All wages plus 15-30% for NI, pension, etc) Director expenses Expenses for all staff depending on their terms and conditions On field kit for all players (say 4 full kits per player) Training kit for all players Medical equipment Training, fitness, conditioning equipment Travel to all away games Hotels and food for players Training camps and other events Marketing (not as much as we’d all like but still some) IT system and equipment Legal costs (lower than in marwans days of course but still needed for contracts, Board arrangements etc) Accountancy fees Interest payments Contribution to foundation Contribution to scholarship VAT and other taxes
I’m sure there is lots more. An income of around £2.5 to £3m would not go very far in running a business like this one

I realise the need for some confidentiality but as I have said previously if we had an idea of the cost perhaps there could be some sponsorship arranged for various expenses - not the big ones but a local pub/club may be prepared to raise funds for stationery - phones- and other smaller items?

They have player sponsorships and various matchday sponsorships - surely that is more enticing than sponsoring the monthly stationary order?

I would have thought that smaller more specific amounts would be attractive to individual groups of supporters as the match day and player sponsors are more for the larger companies and wealthier people. You have to get things within reach of people and they need to see actual results rather than see their money go it a pot
