in other words we've probably got naff all for him. I get he's been a great and it's good being a 'nice club' but sometimes the 'horrible' ones are the ones who are the most successful.

If we've reduced the costs/wage bill with Lui & Sau going then we stand a better chance of surviving

All I can say is thanks for what he brought to the club and good luck in the future.

If all these tools that go on Twitter and slag the club/players etc actually bothered getting off their arses to attend events like the Supporters Trust meetings then they may understand why decisions like this have happened. Paul King was at the meeting the other day and whilst Junior wasn't mentioned he was extremely frank and honest about the club, our finances (to an extent) our plans etc.
This move is obviously a good one for Junior (I assume Leigh offered longer term security?) and at 32 and with rumours of other backs coming in next season Junior may have spent more time on the bench (he's not exactly played a huge amount this season). If he goes now and has the opportunity of a cup final and some silverware at his new club then I'm chuffed for him and hope he absolutely smashes it.
Would I have preferred him to stay? Absolutely! But like Jacko's move (and JJ's) this is probably the best one for his career. We seriously need to start getting behind Paul King, the board, Bleasey and Watto. I think we're in great hands considering our plight and these guys deserve our support.
Just a shame that Social Media tends to bring out most of the thickos in society who just want to vent their spleen and give an (uneducated) opinion.🙄
Thanks for the memories Junior, an absolute legend and hope we see you back at the AJ Bell at some point. Top guy, fantastic role model and a bloody good player.👏👏👏

I get the sentimental reasons but ..
As a club and team we should be keeping our small squad together, isn’t there a duty to the fans to try our upmost to win games .
I understood Lui as we got Lolohea and some cash ,letting S’au go may be the nice thing to do but is the correct decision for the team and supporters?

The brutal truth is that he’s played one game in months. We still have 2 fit centres, 2 fit wingers and 1 fit winger/centre. We’ve then got our first choice winger to come back (hopefully soon). Obviously it’s a risk if we get a few injuries but with 7 games left the people running the club felt it was a manageable risk.

If a players heart isn't in it, then it's the right thing to do. Sau has been a great servant to the club, but a bit player this season. If he finds challenges elsewhere then the club are doing the right thing in letting him pursue those challenges. His family obviously take precedent and if Leigh were willing to offer him a longer term deal then it's the right thing for all parties. This is a business as well as a sport, like it or not, and the outcome on this deal seems to suit all three parties. Some fans need to take off the rose-tinted specs with regards to 'loyalty' and understand the ins and outs of what happens in reality.

I’m looking at it purely as a business decision, we’ve let a resource leave without replacing it . I know he’s not played much but he was still a good player in a small squad , 7 games to go and pushing a play off spot makes it in my eyes a strange decision. It will have freed up some salary for the end of the year , I’m just asking if the club has a duty to the fans to keep the squad as strong as it can and letting S’au leave seems the opposite of that

I get why the club has let him go for financial reasons and to a lesser extent to let Junior get more game time but surely for me it would have made much more sense to loan him to Leigh (there is no fee involved so it would have made no odds) for the rest of the season with a proviso that he will only be recalled in an absolute emergency and then Junior would have been able to sign for them permanently for 2020 and beyond.
If we have any form of injury crisis now it is highly unlikely we will be able to find a replacement at the this late stage.
But again Junior goes with my 100% best wishes, far and away the best signing of the Docs era, a consummate professional and never gave anything less than his all.

Junior asked to leave end of story. He was a good player for Salford nowhere near the great some people are saying and best wishes at his new club. Let’s move on now.
