There is always the possibility Lui is going and we're not putting much of a fight up as Hastings is staying for another season and we are looking to recruit a youngster to play alongside him. Thats the spirit!

I might be wrong, nut i thought players out of contract at the end of the season were not allowed to approached till the 1st of may, If it is too believed in the papers, and Robbie agreed a deal last week, that means he was approached before the 1st of may, which according to the RFL rule book is a illegal approach, ? LIFE GOES ON , BUT WOULD RATHER HAVE HIM THAN NOT HAVE HIM.

Salford could have if Lui came and said he wanted and gave valid reasons or KR approached them first and offered something in return for an early deal. There are ways and means around the cutoff date.

Not sure what the point is of a thread about him going though.
I'd rather there was one about his replacement to be honest.

Lui has been ace for us and we will struggle to find a running back anywhere near as good. He leaves with our blessing however as he has been amazing! However, the fact that Sheens buys anything available let alone Salford players shows to me that maybe the pedistol we placed him on as director of football is wrong. Watto and gleeson really have been a spectacular appointment and am amazed top team aren’t after them. We all love Hastings, Lussick and Jones but don’t ever doubt that way Watto is by far our most valuable asset!
I trust him with our club more than any coach during my time and trust he will build a competitive team for next year. Which btw will be our most difficult season for the last 30 years

I see his mate Jackson Hastings was doing the Analysis on the Wigan V London this evening on Sky. Possibly having A chat about a contract for next year.

Just read the next twist in the Lui saga, he hasn’t signed for them yet because Tim Sheens isn’t certain to be staying at KR.

Salford coach Ian Watson:
"Robbie Lui is a great player and a great family bloke who is proud to play for Salford. We don't want to lose any of the players we have got now. We have done well to attract those guys here in the first place, but we know some of the bigger clubs will be looking to cherry-pick our players.
"Rugby is a short career and players have big decisions to make. This team could be a top team for a few years because it's a young team and we'd love to keep Lui and everyone else.
"I am really proud of the way we responded after losing to Leeds heavily earlier in the season. That was probably the only game this season where I felt we really let ourselves down.
"Our forwards were outstanding against a challenging Leeds pack - many of whom have played in the NRL. Our guys went about their job really well."
That to me seems like Salford ain't desperate to sell him, if watto says is true then hopefully he will stay
