Surprised everyone’s so relaxed to lose Rob Lui. The alternative is the usual mass panic/end of the world/blame game - I prefer this approach.

Most of us are of an age where we are very used to seeing our better players poached by rival teams. This does not always have to be a bigger team, can just be one where they have more long term security.
If Lui does leave then he will have my best and thanks for the 3 years he gave to us. We will start 2020 with a different player wearing the 6 jersey, if he is better or worse remains to be seen.

He’ll go with my thanks if he goes go. I think we will be hard pressed to get a replacement who’s as good. Even I’m his less good games his work rate and attitude is spot on I hope either KR get relegated so he stays like last time 😂 or that it just isn’t true

I agree that he will be a big loss. But, as ever, we need to move on. We have lost some damn good players over the last few years. BJB, MCB, BMM, Sneyd, Fages, Griffin, Taylor, Kopczak, Myler?, Ratchford, Lannon, Smith, Broughton. All these are still playing in super league. But we have survived. We will sign someone else and carry on.

Surprised everyone’s so relaxed to lose Rob Lui. It's not a matter of being relaxed. We can't influence anything so why worry about it.What ever will be will be sang Doris Day.

Were you on backing vocals dixon13?😉 I'd be sad to see Rob Lui go but like everyone says, this is Salford and we're basically a selling club. We sell to survive. Just hope he's sh1te as and when he plays against us!😁 I have no idea on a replacement though, apart from the odd live SL game I rarely see much RL so can only comment on players I've seen against us. Atkin was one of HKR's best players against us earlier in the season so would definitely be an option. Didn't realise he's an ex-Swiney though having played 100 games for our illustrious *chuckles* near neighbours.

What about Ryan Hampshire from Wakey? He’s off contract and apparently prefers playing at 6. If we can get a proper 7 he’d be worth a go.

As good as he's been for us, it wouldn't be the end of the world if he did leave. Players come and players go, just hope we can find a replacement of reasonable quality.

Lui will be a big loss to the club....I wouldn't necessarily say he has been in poor form as such, just that Hastings is taking over a little bit more. I cant understand why he would want to go to Hull KR as he appears settled at Salford, his family are settled locally and his children in local schools. If as I`m quite sure Hastings moves on, then LUI would again come into the fold as he did prior to Hastings arrival. If we lose the two of them, then unfortunately it will definitely be a step back and I think we would struggle. I`m still in support of us going for Brierley or even Drinkwater as replacements. At the end of the day...to replace a 6 & 7 which we have at the moment will be a tall order and it appears we have let him go without a fight to keep him.

I agree with you about KR and going there it must be money. Or we are not botherd because Watto has got something up is sleve and not is arm and his going to pull a master stroke.

Perhaps we have to again cut our cloth accordingly and simply do not the resources available to retain Robbie. If by letting him go we free up the funds to bring in another couple of rough diamonds to shape then I am ok with this. We have been here before and been the starting point of many careers from McAvoy, Myler, Ratchford, Turner, Coley, O'Connor and Naylor to name a few.

There is always the possibility Lui is going and we're not putting much of a fight up as Hastings is staying for another season and we are looking to recruit a youngster to play alongside him.
