It was Gemma Carter that mentioned it on Twitter and said that she would be able to point out the culprits (more than one) so she was definitely there. Well hopefully she does and the RFL/club and anyone in between jump like the roaches they are. Sorry my leanings are right of centre and even I see that this type of thing has no place anywhere in todays society. What !?!? You're. Right of Centre ?? I just nearly choked on my Lentil and couscous artisan Fair trade sourced wholegrain pitta I never knew that there's not many Private hire drivers like that.

The Racist incident on Saturday has been reported on down under as well By the Same person who did the match Report in Rugby league weekly Steve Mascord journalist He sat next to the individual who made the comment or comments. First thing after reading it was Why didn't he mention it to a London official or steward. But maybe the reason Is in the title of the story www.theroar.com.au/2019/04/30/cowardice-signaling-after-a-brush-with-racism-at-the-footy/

So ‘racist chanting by supporters’ was actually ‘a racist comment by a supporter’? While these things shouldn’t be swept under the rug they should at the least be reported correctly.

Some of his comments in that article are farcical. A nothing of a story blown all out of proportion because racism is the main story in sport at the moment. I have never heard racist comments at any Salford game and hopefully never will.

You’re obviously a lot younger than me ! i agree entirely that it is a poor article but surely his main point was whether he should have said something at the time. Overall, though,we shouldn’t give this story more oxygen, not to condone it at all but the earlier headlines made it seem as though half the away support were involved in racist chanting when it was a couple of individuals who are in the last century

I’ve been following this since I saw the first tweets about it. I’ve never got the impression it was a very large number of people. But it is more than some people are trying to make out - Gemma Carter is the main witness. Steve Mascord’s article is thoughtful I think. A lot of people don’t know how to react to hearing offensive comments. Abs I think he is refelecting on his own response
I am old enough to remember monkey noises being made by the shed when the likes of Hanley, Offiah, Drummond etc got the ball and various comments, some of which became chants and were shouted loudly by individuals. Thankfully it stopped happening on a large scale at the end of the 80s/early 90s but i’d hear comments reasonably frequently for a while after that. I almost always asked people to stop or challenged them and they pretty much always did. It never occurred to me to tell a steward or the club. I guess if they had carried on after being challenged I might have done.
As i said previously it’s a long time since I have heard much. A zero tolerance approach is needed now I think to stop it becoming a problem again
I don’t think Salford was different to most clubs at the time, and definitely better than some

I wasn’t at the game but if I had been sat near to Gemma Carter and Steve Mascord and had actually heard the alleged comment being said, I would have sought out a steward and pointed out the culprit and offered to give evidence if required. As it is the alleged incident will be/has been poorly reported and commented on,and the culprit may never be identified.

You'd think Steve Mascord would have been able to give a description to London Aren't journalists supposed to be good at observing things. He's been at the AJ Bell twice this season selling his RL Merchandise by the ticket office for the MascordBrownz company he's a Co owner.

I and one or to of my age will have been on Football and Rugby League grounds where that kind of language was common place. It was wrong then and it is wrong now.As for the article I have know opinion on if it was good or bad.But it asked a question what would we have done in he's position.

He's obviously prioritised his Fee for the two In the UK And Oz before he decided to help with finding the Culprit or culprits.
