I agree it would be harsh for any to miss out after last Saturday Lawton still feels like a project in development. Good as he was, he only did 15-20 mins once the game was won. Could he do 40-60 minutes yet if injuries meant he had to? Massively encouraging debut but amateur to on-loan-championship to SL is a big step. That’s why I think he is most likely to miss out from anyone I think you’re right about Burke providing some cover at hooker as well as prop and LF JJR It is good that we are having debates about who should be in the team given we all thought it would pick itself given our small squad at the start of the season Lawton is work in progress but i thought his defensive work in the first few Catalan sets after he came on was exceptional. Despite his size he appears more agile than most forwards and having seen a couple of clips of him at Rochdale, his pace with ball in hand looks useful too.

I agree. His defence was top notch and his desire to keep them nilled. He looks agile in defence and attack, good feet. I’ve got high hopes for Adam
Having pretty much given the game up and then going back to the amateur game and rediscovering his love for League then hopefully he’ll have more desire to be successful than anyone. And Salford giving him his comeback chance should give him a real sense of this being his home.
To go from amateur club to SL in a few months is a remarkable story. I can’t tell you how much I hope it works out

Great headaches for Watto. As he's always done , he'll base his decisions partly on training this week. Any one 100% not fit and don't risk them . Wrong attitude and there is someone else to take your place. Don't think you can change a winning 17. One of the joys of bringing your kids up supporting Salford is that I've got to the stage where my 15 year old offers decent reasonably informed opinions on the game and he agrees !!! Lusssick to continue to do 80 mins ( or so ) - gives us more firepower on the bench. I'd change that when Woods is fit. Most of my playing days were at centre ( with transition to back row as I slowed down ! )and at this level any professional centre should be able to pass equally well both ways. Yes if given a choice I pass to the left more comfortably but in the heat of a game it's all on a subconscious level ( the motor skills but not necessarily the decision making ), so Junior could play on the right, but I'd give him another week rehab - he'll be chomping at the bit then. I was going to say that the right/left centre/wing combinations are there to enable relationships to be built up , but Bibby blew that theory out of the water on Saturday looking like he'd played with Ken for several seasons !!!!! Moose might , if fully fit be selected but why risk him if he's not 100%. Looking forward to this one , but as ever as a Salford fan , expecting to lose, but I can survive off that Catalan performance for a while !!!

I don't think Watto as any headache. You win away 0 46 at a team that beat Warrington. He picks the same squad and says go out and do it again.

Watson consistently backs those who’ve performed for him. With a win like that he won’t change the team unless Mossop is fit which I doubt. If he is,I’d expect Burke to drop out. Junior won’t play. Welham will also start but he must stop coming out of the line and flapping,he must hit the man, otherwise he’s been pretty good. The one piece of information that I don’t know is whether Bibby or Sa’u can play right centre. Stating the obvious, left handed people are better passing to their right. I wonder whether he’ll try that when we’re playing a struggling club, like Wigan. Bonita - agree with most but Bibby clearly a #4 not #3 and must stay in after Saturdays show. Maybe Junior @ 3 when fit. Burke for me stays as proving an excellent ball handling prop - something we haven`t had since Alan Grice! Not including Baynes as a ball handling prop either!

No trains between Leeds and Cas for those who are relying on public transport.

It would be rational to play the same team against Cas otherwise if Chamberlain can play right centre I'd like to see him play there. Is it compulsory that Junior should always play if fit?

I'd not drop Junior if fit, he's the heart and soul of the team for me and if he were more vocal I've no doubt he would be club captain.
There isn't really a player (except maybe Flash the 1st few games) who hasn't played as we'd all hope, I suspect that Welham will be the one to be dropped if Junior is fit.

He won’t change the backs. Junior won’t start if everyone is fit. Nailed on,he’ll be back, just not this week. Tremendous player.

I agree with the sentiment but if junior and the moose are back they will start. Welham needs to be taken out as he will and does get exposed to easily and Mossop is the cornerstone of our pack, so someone to drop out. Tbh we don’t know whose picked up knocks and whose carrying what

His replacement had a blinder in an all round brilliant team performance so if he’s fit he keeps his place. Moose would have a chance but he’s not fit.

Junior has not played well so far this season and why does he still not pass to his winger. Bibby has to play he deserves it and in my opinion is a much better player than Junior. Never change a winning team especially one that battered a very good Catalans outfit.
