As rare as Salford winning 46-0 away @ Catalan, We're on the front of League Weekly. All of which proves hens have teeth! Any idea where I can pick up a copy of LW in town russ? Never bought it before tbh but worth grabbing a copy this week!

How good does that shirt look in that faded grey?

Where did that performance come from? Wasn't expecting that! Everyone from 1-17 played great, Hastings and Bibby in particular.
Having thought about it, surely it has to be one of our greatest results in the SL era? Yeah we've beaten better teams before, but I can't remember us winning so convincingly and keeping a clean sheet, especially at a tough place to go like Catalans.
Hope everyone who went enjoyed it as much as I did!

We got back from France in the early hours of this morning and I have just watched the game again. I thought we were excellent when we were at the game, but watching it again on the TV I thought we were better than that! It's a different experience watching the game in a relaxed fashion, knowing the result than it is sitting in the stadium, spending 65 minutes or so thinking Catalan are going to get back into the game and even then not being completely certain we were going to hold on! I thoroughly enjoyed the win at Hull two years ago, but the performance in Perpignan has to be the best experience for a Salford fan since our 1996 victory over Wigan in the Cup.
The quality of our attacking play, particularly down the left flank had to be seen to be believed and our defence was even better!
If we can get anywhere near that standard in the next few months we are in for a good season.
Let's hope we can get near that standard at Castleford on Sunday.

The lads were immense on Saturday and you could clearly see that confidence was high. I like the way we kept pressing for more scores even though to be honest when we were 20 odd in front I was just hoping for a clean bill of health and no knocks. Too many excellent performances to name a man of the match but big shout to Bibby. Spent a lot of time not involved but has been patient, took his chance with both hands and must start against Cas. Can't remember when Catalans were last nilled at home but even then, doubt it will have been anywhere near our score. Thought we seemed much quicker at the PTB. Watto's tactics were obvious to get it wide early which worked so well.
Well done boys... On to Cas where hopefully it'll be 4 from 4 away.

I'm sure "someone" on here suggested the tactic of getting the ball out wide early.... that guy must know his stuff.š I have to say that I wasn't expecting us to smash them down the middle as well! Good to hear so many positive comments from fans of other clubs as well (even Wigan and Wire!) so just hope we can get somewhere near those heights every week. Saturday's performance would have shocked many and teams will now have plans in place to deal with it. However, I think Watto will have plenty of backup plans and a number of plays in the locker to allow us to mix it up and keep opponents guessing.
It's been quiet at work today... strangely haven't heard from my Pie/W*nky supporting colleagues who appear to have gone AWOL.š I'm looking forward to tracking them down at some point and giving them plenty of grief!
And I have to agree with the comment about potentially this being our best performance in the SL era. Hull away was pretty special a couple of years back but this tops it for me. We'll struggle to see a more complete team performance in a long, long time from a Salford outfit.š

Four players in the team of the week and the coach of the week and a picture presumably of the team of the week

Surely it shouldāve been a six pointer, though. Sio missed the kick. I think the more pertinent question is why it wasnāt a penalty try. Oddly,I thought heād have given the penalty try if Bibby hadnāt made it easy for him Can you give a penalty try if a try is scored anyway? Agree that if Bibby hadnāt followed up it would have been a penalty try and easy kick in front of the posts. Canāt say it affected the result though! No it just seemed the decision was a strange one.

Estagnol, who knows about these things said that,if the try is scored,heād give the try rather than it going to a penalty try decision.

I think it would just have been a penalty. No guarantee that either the tackling of the player without the ball, or the push in the back prevented a try. So it would have been a penalty with presumably a kick at goal.

I think the issue is that the ref asked the video ref to have a look at awarding a penalty try first and no answer was given on air, nor was any explanation given as to why it wasn't answered. But that's RL . Think Childs was the video ref.

Man of Steel votes: Bibby 3 Evalds 2 Jones 1 Leader Roby 12 Evalds 4= with 6 I think it's odd but Roby shines for Saints consistently even in their strong side.
For Salford we seem to have people sharing the limelight round a bit more.
Just saying.
