Sounds like we did ok, couldn't make the game, but sounded like our right side defence struggled a bit? Btw when did Hastings go off? On the Wigan forum it mentioned that we had a behind-closed-doors match vs Warrington... anyone know when/what/how/who/where this was...?

I thought we did ok. I was surprised by our lack of creativity in the first half. Hastings showed glimpses of what he can do. Lui worked hard but had a quiet game I thought. Evalds was excellent at full back and in the halves. He was my MoM. Him and Lussick could be a good combination - Lussick prompting and organising, evalds running and creating. Both decent kicking game. Sio had a promising debut, esp on the wing. McCarthy was the pick of the forwards I thought followed by Dizzy and Dudson
Hard to tell much more really. The first half in particular felt flat but second half we had more zip. Flash only played last 20, we always look a bit flat on attack without him linking up play. Lot of changes by both teams so always disruptive. We willl need to tighten our right side defence. Chamberlain injury was worrying )could be 12 weeks potentially)

Oh. I forgot Hanson Turgut. I thought he was excellent in defence and attack. He ran out of the line one time but apart from that was pretty much faultless

I was really happy with how it went yesterday. Sio looks quality and Niall, Jacko and Lui are going to be a major handful this season. JJ is getting back to somewhere near his best and will be a human wrecking ball again this season and if we can tighten up the edge defence then I'm confident we'll be ok.
Shame about Chamberlain's injury as we lose one of our main speedsters and I'd be surprised if we see him for a couple of months. I know Watto is still working on a couple of players (assume they're loans) but we could do a lot worse than picking up a couple of Wigan's fringe forwards. At least while Lawton gets up to speed and until Walker's ban ends. They had a lot of size on the bench yesterday and there are a couple of other lads that didn't get into yesterday's squad so I'd look at grabbing a couple of them on a month's loan. Win-win for both clubs.
Oh one final thing.... what was with the constant 10 metre drop outs? I did like the fact we tried it and Sio obviously has aerial ability so I'm guessing we'll be using the option during the season when a few points down in the last few minutes. I'd be tempted to stick him near the halfway line as well to cover for short kick-offs as our record at gathering the ball from short kick-offs is woeful.
