There's been an announcement (in the Metro, of all places) that Zak Hardaker will play Sunday. It'll be interesting to see what team they field with a full week ahead: Friday 18/01/19 London Skolars away Sunday 20/01/19 Salford (US) National Pie Day 23/01/2019 Saturday 26/01/19 Barrow away

Am I right in thinking the beer tent profits go to the club? Or is it run by the stadium? 4 proper ale cans coming with me on Sunday and would rather the sizable profits go to the club...

If there was a beer tent offering even remotely palatable beer before the game I'd get there early and have a skin full, as it is I time my arrival for the last 15 mins pre KO and with cold cans secreted upon my person from the shop on Liverpool Road around the corner.

By the time we get to the stadium it probably won't matter much the tasting phase will have been passed..Do the club get the profits?

That's my point, if they got the profits from what's sold outside I'd make the effort to supp there, it's doubtful they do get anything as it is still on Peel/HC land and I doubt they would allow an entity to take away from there wet sales.
If they would and the club haven't done something about this then all officially is lost.

If your struggling for a pre match beer then would recommend heading to the veterans garage at Barton airport.
This is a charity that has been created for ex service men and women and from memory stock seven brothers ale as well so will be helping an ex red in Nathan McAvoy in the process

I've slept since the Supporters Trust AGM last night but, IIRC, Paul King said the club don't make anything from any food/beer outlets outside the stadium either (money grabbing StadCo won't allow it).
Really looking forward to the game. Wigan bound to put out a strong team with their other 2 pre-season friendlies being against London Skolars this Friday and Barrow on the 26th.
I'd imagine a more expansive style of play from them as well with Lam having taken over the reins.

Bloody bugs me this. At one point a beer van was allowed onto the concourse and their ale was better than the stadiums but it's not been there for ages now. Does anyone know if this is because the stadium won't allow it or they just sacked it off because of low profits? If it is allowed (for a fee obviously) what would stop the club (or the trust) operating one? Even if it was just cans of good stuff. If the supporters knew the profits were going to the club I'm sure they would use it. I certainly would.

This ( above ) Elior UK , own the catering rights to the AJ Bell , and ALL concessions (in Stadium and outside Vans & Tents ) go to Eloir or the SMC Anything the club can set up outside or inside can not include food or drink , gate / ticket receipts ,sponsorship & merchandise are the clubs main income

Watching Twitter updates at Eindhoven Airport, strikes me we keep putting the ball down and Lam has seen the wisdom of a low bouncing ball over a predictable high bomb.

I was also keeping up on Twitter- seems like a decent effort with conversions an issue again. Unfortunately Hastings, Lui and Chamberlain all limped off - Lussick and Evalds ended up in the halves.

How did Evalds and Lussick go in the halves? Might be a blessing then getting game time, they will doubtless be the on field halves back up along with Wood.

Hopefully someone who went can fill us in on the details (it’s a bit far for me to attend friendlys unfortunately) but Evalds did set up a try apparently.
