Horrible elbow off Brough. Should be done for it, but will he?

Great team performance today, the two new lads really looked the part. To think that we still had Evalds, Vidot and Jones on the sidelines today and to win so convincingly against a strong Huddersfield side was a massive credit to the club and shows how far we have come under Tim Sheens' guidance.
Leigh away next week should be a belting game, I can see us taking a lot of fans down there next Saturday afternoon especially how it doesn't clash with a Man United game, whoever let Salford play on the same day as the Community Shield wants shooting, criminal! We'd easily have had another 500-1000 fans there today, it's just poor business. Please sort it out, avoid clashing with all Manchester football games at all costs, especially United matches.
Still very happy it's just a shame we couldn't try and maximise our attendances by better arranging our fixtures and marketing the games to a higher standard We just need to be a little lit more smarter at times, these players deserve better support than they are getting currently their playing fantastic Rugby League football easily our best side in the Super League area, probably since the 70s.

Fantastic performance and result today! I know that we're not the only club that does this, but why does it cost an extra £5 to get in on the day than for a pre-paid ticket? Surely this discourages many 'walk-up' supporters who decide at the last minute to attend!?

FAULTLESS first half performance today by the Reds.
That Brough is a disgrace

The first half was brilliant. In attack we punished Huddersfield and looked like scoring every time we had the ball in their half. In defence, we kept them quiet and remained solid. I said before the game that if we kept Brough quiet we would win, and we managed to do just that. I hope the RFL review the footage that's emerged of him elbowing Tomkins in the face. Disgraceful that.
I also thought Murdoch-Masilla had his best game yet in a Salford shirt, and Tomkins has improved considerably over the course of the season.

Tomkins gives us a headache, with the lad from York signing and Kenny proving he is a decent hooker we potentially have 3 quality rakes on the books, might be a risk playing Brining and Kenny in the same squad though.
Have to admit didn't see Brough elbow Tomkins at the time but looking at the footage he can't escape a lengthy ban for that, in a way it helped as we went over immediately and effectually snuffed out the Hudds mini revival. His niggle all game was evident, you do wonder what his beef with Salford is.

What happened to Carney? Was it the injury he's had previously this year or something new? It will be interesting to see if Vidot comes in as apparently he isn't injured Watson has picked (rightly) MCB in his place.

The incident when Brough elbowed Logan Tomkins was directly in front of where we were sitting and I cannot believe that Child and the touch judge did not see it. If Gareth Hock had carried on as Brough did he would have been yellow carded twice and the sent off.

Hasn't Kenny only signed until the end of the season?

The incident happened away from the main focus of the officials and happened over a split second so was easy to miss. I'd hope that he is banned for such a cowardly and dangerous attack by the disciplinary board, but who knows?

Bit of a cause celeb with me but all these reports of him moving on at the end of the season are crazy, like Evalds he's only played sporadically this season but got a hat full of tries, can see him filling his boots against Featherstone and Batley.

Very strong first half from the team, possibly the strongest i have seen for a while. Great attacking play combined with strong goal line defence when needed. We left Hudds with no idea how to break us down even though it felt to me like Mr Childs was giving them every opportunity. MCB was excellent again and I thought BMM also put in a decent shift, still a bit undecided on that guy. Second half was not as good, had that customary period of ten minutes where we seem to lose the plot be it through stupid penalties or lack of concentration. We really have to cut that out and play the full eighty. But what I found very refreshing is that normally having allowed the opposition to get a sniff in we have let our heads drop in the past and rolled over, recently the team seem to have the ability to put it out of their heads and get going again. Great start to the Eights, we now just have to make sure we do not get complacent this weekend against Leigh. They are going to be no pushover.
Little concerned to hear that we might not be offering MCB a new contract (apologies i don't remember where i read it) I think that would be madness as he is coming on leaps and bounds, anyone heard anything about this?

Danny Brough has been charged with a Grade C offence, which carries a recommended sanction of 2-3 games Squeaky bum time for Huddersfield fans. LINK
