And didn't Johnson win Fastest Man in SL a few years back? (I know Jodie did but thought Johnson did as well). TBH, having not seen Dixon I'll take your word for it.๐ Am I right in thinking he smoked as well? (although seems like most players seemed to like a fag and 20 pints back then!๐) Interesting article here on the Leeds site mentioning Dixon's pace. Just wish there was more footage around of him and some of the great ex-Salford players. www.therhinos.co.uk/2017/02/21/harry-jepsons-salford-dream-team/

Yes he was a sort of Ellery Hanley but not as fast as Bill Burgess, Martin Offiah or Keith Feilding; probably a bit more than Evalds speed, who isn't that fast really. But his tackling was ferocious. Probably the best forward I've seen in a Salford shirt. Evalds not that fast !! I know who'd I'd not like to be in a race for the last pie against. He's quick but not "lightning" quick. Remember him getting caught a few times after breaks and real flyers (Johnstone/Grace/MCB) don't ever seem to get caught once they've broken the line. I think Niall is pretty quick over a short distance and has good footwork but wouldn't be able to compete with Jodie or Johnson in their prime. Anyone know who is officially the quickest player at the club ATM?

I suppose it's difficult to judge really because the boots were heavy, generally the grounds were thick with grass, balls were like lead and it was winter. Would have been good to see him in modern day gear on modern pitches.

Tom Van Volenhoven a springbok rugby union player who played for Saints at the same time was clocked at 10.1 for the same Hundred yards. They were fast.

Did I miss the loose forward vote? I think itโs still up - Iโve not seen the result.
