I can't recall any Xmas day matches. I remember going to a few boxing day matches, and we always seemed to have Leeds away on New years day iirc.

Swinton on Boxing Day is my memory of festive matches.
Dragged in pubs on the Height then either down to the Willows or the Slum.
Ahh happy days.

I seem to remember Wigan were always at Easter. Now who was on NY Day?? ( and with summer rugby, when everybody's on their jolly s we had none of this: wonder why crowds are falling 🙃)

But Apart from that It was Lovely. Oh no My memories playing tricks it was Bloody awful.

In reality I can't remember to many games at the Enormadome played in baking hot sunshine, it's a pity our weather is so unpredictable as I have always thought if they knew a Sunday afternoon was going to warm and sunny much could be done on with the area surrounding the stadium, a few food trucks and I always liked a slurp from those beer trucks that did alternatives to the slop they serve inside.

I remember as a kid. salford asking for fans to clear the pitch of snow, for a match against Blackpool, so as kids we all turned about 20 of us, and for our troubles we were given match tickets, no use as i think we were all season ticket holders lol and a free ice lolly . lol.
Swinetown im sure was allways boxing day,

Seem to remember something similar in the mid 00's, remember working on the Quays and a massive storm storm blew in and a cry went out for help, walked (as obviously the trams stopped) round and helped on my way home.
I remember the sound of brass things falling of monkeys that day.

Ah but no way as cold as A game at Oldham Watersheddings (there ground until 1997 if you weren't aware) On a Boxing day in the late 80s . Think the temp didn't go around freezing all day. Had to fortify myself with a Few Yates hot blobs as they were called Lovely drink it was 🤔 And of course we lost the game !!

Now remember the Blob Shop on High Street in town, used to love heading up on the bus to do a bit of shopping on a Saturday and then heading in there for a few little warmers.
It was SA wine they used.

And it also excepted vouchers from the Salvation army in December. It's now the Matt & Phreds jazz bar. Wouldn't won't to be the cleaner in that place Having to clean it off the floor every morning.
