According to the Club it's again looking at ways to get old fans back and new fans involved.
So we must have lots of ideas! So any ideas?

Said for years £10 or free tickets for football fans to try and entice, with people handing them outside the etihad and OT. The crowds enjoy sport (obviously), have money and are mostly local so it ticks every box. Thing is with league, once you have been and experienced it you want to get involved. Its logical but as far as I know never tried.

Yep,if in doubt, give it for free,or nearly. Doesn’t work, period, simply devalues the game and us lot find the source of the cheap tickets and use them instead of paying full price. I’ve no idea what the answer is but giving it away isn’t the solution.

I know of quite a few on here with good logical ideas that have put them to the club but got zero back. Not even a thank you for your thoughts. In fact, I've seen it over a number of years.
There's nothing wrong in coming up with stuff on here, just saying to reel your expectations in when putting them to the club.

I am 78 this year, still watch Salford mainly because I take my grandchild. I don't see any of my old friends that I used to see there, probably because they have passed away. I think Salford need to concentrate on getting New and younger fans .Some people I have spoken to won't go to the new ground

How can people decide if its for them if they aren't enticed through the turnstile? And furthermore how do you know it doesn't work for that type of crowd as its never been done?

Carnster, MR agree that Club in the past has not responded (MK lost the plot with the fans) and that at the moment there is a change in personnel and some things are dropping thro the net. Sadly it isn't a well run club yet but it seems to be moving in the right direction.
But it's now owned by the Supporters US, So in my view it's up to US to do everything we can to help. If not it will end.
Things won't be fully right for a while, there is no sugar daddy and there are, at moment limited resources, but people are working hard.
So as it's our club let's at least start to help by putting positive suggestion forward. The Supporters Trust seem to be working hard and on this site is another group with lots of ideas and ability. So why not use it?

Couldn't agree more JJR.
What I alluded to with my reply to Carnster is that I emailed the club a couple of ideas almost a week ago but as yet it's just stoney silence.
If that's the level of appreciation you get then it's hard to get the motivation to help them more.

I think the problem is they're overloaded. Why don't you e mail the Supporters Trust. I know they're working with the Chairman to help the situation.
I'm sure somebody will have their e mail address.

The future of the club depends on the schoolkids of today. I started watching in '89 with a free Junior Devils ticket through Hope High. They need to replicate this in some way. If we owned the bloody ground and the catering facilities some of that money lost on the free ticket could be recouped on the catering but we don't own it so there's not even any income stream from that.
New fans aren't just going to rock up out of interest. Football is king and for me growing up it was all Utd and Salford in Salford. Now that Blue mob from across town have crawled out the gutter we have local kids jumping on that bandwagon, so even more competition for their attention.😢
How good are the club's links with Folly, Langworthy, Cadishead Rhinos etc? Maybe we could offer £5 kids tickets to anyone playing for a local juinor club and their parent for a tenner? Wouldn't bother me as a ST holder as I just want to see the place full.
Btw, I'm sure I was promised the option of bringing an U12 for free to a game as part of my ST deal. Did the club withdraw the offer, is it still in place or am I imagining it?!🤔

S slim. I don't know the answer to your question but I think the Supporters Trust is channelling those to the Club. Just found their website. www.salfordrlfcst.comand there is a feedback form for comments

Yes,very familiar with the concept. Been tried at the AJ Bell without any ongoing benefit, and at Leigh. There are many other examples. I agree on one point,it should work. But,it doesn’t. Also,Salford Slim,I’m a ST holder and enrolled 2 of my grandkids for free season tickets. Really progressive system

Really progressive system But you are already a fan, it’s those who don’t go who we need to get in. “Free” tickets can work, but not alone. Needs a coordinated plan, getting contact detail, further incentives, coincide with other events on the same day, get them hooked and coming back paying. It can work. We just haven’t tried it properly. There isn’t a golden bullet, it’s going to take a lot of work and time to get people regularly through the doors.

I think Salford need to concentrate on getting New and younger fans .Some people I have spoken to won't go to the new ground Scoot I am the same age as yourself and I still attend games with my family, there are usually six adults and two juniors and I agree that the future lies with the younger fans and I have been lucky in that I introduced my wife to the game in the late fifties/early sixties and my two children in the late sixties early seventies, they in turn have introduced our grandchildren and we are there every week and some away games. As you say some people have passed away, some have moved away, some have just stopped attending for whatever reason, I still see a few from the old days but on the other hand some new people have come along obviously not enough to fill the gap. The club now appear to be trying very hard to attract new fans with various initiatives and the Supporters Trust are also putting a lot of effort in to assist the new board along the way and my view is that these initiatives will take some time to come to fruition especially the ones involving the schools and universities although I do feel that listening to friends who have children of school age the club appear to be making inroads into areas that have hardly been tried previously, the Red Devil’s Foundation have worked wonders with very little finance over several years. I was a big critic of the Stadium Company in the early days but I genuinely feel that things have improved over the last couple of years and I feel that some of the people who have slagged the stadium off to myself have never actually paid it a visit and I feel that it’s facilities compare favourably with most decent grounds and and are far superior to some and I can get to the ground as quick as getting to the Willows but getting home takes a little longer due to having to walk further. How do we improve the crowds? That is anybody’s guess but people should give the new board a chance, the club needs a period where there is a settled feeling about the place and a wining team would certainly assist in doing just that.
