According to the Club it's again looking at ways to get old fans back and new fans involved. So we must have lots of ideas! So any ideas? Simple! start by winning matches.

How do we improve crowds? The million dollar question. A few of my comments below.
In regards to the short term. Promote the family ticket offer. It must be one of the best deals in the league. 2 adults and 2 kids for £40 (standing) and we don't tell anyone about it! This should be the main focus for the Catalan game with it being a bank holiday. There's numerous Salford fan pages now on twitter etc. Get in touch with them and do a co ordinated promotion with them all posting/sharing the same promotion in the build up to the game.
For the Warrington game. It's live on sky, sandwiched in between Liverpool vs Everton and Man city vs Utd. I think we're cursed with this one. Maybe offer anyone who buys a Catalan ticket a reduced price ticket for this game. It would be a good game to allow ST holders to bring a mate for a reduced price. Promote a full day of sport in the bars and it will appeal to people who will try and get a group of workmates along for a day on the beer etc. Put a bit of food on in the bars. Get a few sandwiches/chip barms etc on and encourage people to get there early/hang around post game.
In summary each game should have a different promotional approach depending on time/date etc and other relevant events.
In the longer term, extending things such as the shuttle bus service will see a gradual increase in crowds IMO. I think it's been overlooked how people like to be in a matchday routine. If there's a regular bus from somewhere at 6.30pm, people will get used to it, word will spread. They then start bringing mates etc. Currently people who don't drive or want a beer are waiting around for taxis etc or trekking a fair bit to the nearest bus stop/train station and the general inconvenience will put the casual fan off.
Also the general goodwill the club will hopefully be generating with the community dealings will also see crowds increase IMO, but it's a slow builder and will take time to rebuild this after the wave of negativity we've faced since being at Barton.
The last thing is season tickets. Obviously sell more and the crowds will go up. Thursday night games have killed of ST sales at quite a few clubs but we need to try and put an attractive package together for next season and hopefully people will buy into it.
This is the big season for us really. We've got to stick with it really as a fanbase and hopefully we survive in SL and then the longer term approach the club are taking will start to have a positive effect going forwards.

I sit in the west stand with my season ticket, occasionally I will introduce lapsed fans or the occasional fan to watch the game, unfortunately the cost for the casual fan is £25 to sit in the West stand & I am continually told I am not paying that again as it is far to expensive. Why can we not have a scheme where when accompanied by a season ticket holder it allows a discount when purchased with the season ticket holder card of up to one to encourage the occasional fan to visit. Or why not give the season ticket holders the chance to introduce a number of friends, lapsed supporters once per season at a discounted rate. I know Wigan ran a scheme where season ticket holders had the chance to bring up to 6 supporters once per season at a special discounted rate.

I’ve said it before on here and I will say it again. As well as taking an intensive approach in Salford (which the club are attempting to do on a commendable basis) they also need to take an extensive approach into the surrounding areas. I have never heard anybody say a bad word about Rugby League. Equally not many people where I live have been to a game and their exposure to it is limited to the TV. Or may have been to the odd Wigan game. I’ve taken a few over the last 12 months to watch Salford, most have enjoyed and several consider themselves Salford fans now. Salford is the local super league team for a catchment area of a few million! It is my local team (top 3 divisions) geographically in Darwen. As it is for Manchester, and the Lancashire towns north of Manchester as far east as Burnley. However I have to tell people this as the local team is wrongly assumed to be Wigan! Salford are almost forgotten about and incorrectly and annoyingly perceived by many where I live as a Manchester suburb. I have to tell them it is it’s own proud city and the ground is less than 20 miles away! The club are missing a trick here by not selling themselves in this vast catchment area. Now I appreciate the died in the wool Salfordian might not want an influx of “outsiders” but the club needs to improve on the current crowds. This would be one way of doing it by selling and promoting in the areas mentioned.

I banged the drum for the West Stand Value ST's at the start of this season again to no avail. Needed to be stewarded properly to stop value ticket holders encroaching into the posher parts on halfway but it seemed pretty successful in 2017 from where we sat (apart from one or 2 big gobs!) The East Stand still hasn't found its purpose yet with those Community tickets - woefully low against Hull FC - though the weather WAS horrendous. There probably could be a bridging solution for South Stand ST holders who wish to sit should be able to use the East Stand near corner and reduce the cost of a seat via a ST holder for new / lapsed fans? £20 on the gate or something.

Can I give my experience today. I live in Gran Canaria. I am going back to England next Sunday to see my 91 year old father (who has been a Salford fan for 89 of those years). I will be taking him to see the home game against Warrington which will probably be his first and last visit to the A J Bell stadium. But I decided to get in the match away against Leeds on Easter Monday as well. (Mad, I know, but we have to win there one day!). I couldn't order my ticket on line, so I phoned up. There were about 8 options, then about 4 options. When I finally spoke to someone, he said the match against Leeds wasn't showing up. It must be sold out, but it might be worth ringing a different number. This turned out to be the number that I had already phoned! Anyway, I tried again, got through to a lady this time and got it sorted in no time. Perhaps making it easier to book tickets might help. We had better win at Leeds after this!

John1 can you post this to the Supporters Trust website and they'll do something about it. There is a link in here for feedback. I had the same trouble. www.salfordrlfcst.com

On Twitter it says that Marwan will match ticket sales on the day for good Friday from his own pocket. The idea being that existing fans are encouraged to bring a new or lapsed fan with them.

Does this fantastic offer by MK only relate to tickets purchased at the ground, on the day? I live in Gran Canaria and can't make it, but would buy a ticket anyway if it produced double for the club. Can anybody clarify pleae?
