5 drives and a kick rugby. 3 kicks taken when near the line as well. Percentage rugby at its worst. Out of the backs only Sau Lui and Evalds come out of that with any credit. Was Littlejohn actually playing? We are better than that and if Watson perseveres with those tactics then bottom of the league beckons. Completion rate in the 90% easy when you do fook all with the ball. New faces needed desperately to liven up a static back line. Remember when I got dogged a few weeks back for the Brian Nobble style rugby post?? The problem is JLJ, he looks panic stricken ball in hand and he can't wait to get rid of it. Not once have I seen him taking the line on or creating spaces, just nowhere near good enough at the moment. We lost last night because of some poor penalties, a ball strip which never was and kicking for two. We are effectivly operating with one HB, if lui got injured now we would be in the deepest sh1t if not so already. unfortunately Nostradamus this is how it is at the moment - like they said in commentary we have a 25 (i think they said) man squad - we cant expect miracles. although some people are calling for Watto's head - bringing last seasons results into this season - we need to see how we do after we bring a few more bodies in.. we are bare bones at the min and we need to get behind the boys. Agreed 5 drives and a kick rugby has no place in superleague though. JLJ needs to up his game but what other option do we have? this team is better than Widnes and Catalan and i dont fear the drop, however we do need new recruits if we have top 8 aspirations

Don't think there's much more to be said on last night's game than has already been said here. Couple of nonsense decisions by Thaler when we were in (relative) control of the game put us on the back foot. WTF Olpherts was doing is anyone's guess and then once Widnes got their noses in front they kicked us to death in the last 10 minutes and fair play to them for that. Think Lama needs to slightly refine his tackling technique as if he attempts to wrap his arms around the player his tackles will be absolutely fine. He hits hard and in today's climate he's gonna get absolutely hammered by the refs anytime he's slightly out on his technique. Our hopes this season will hinge on how we fare against the other also-rans, we can't afford to boss games and throw away the 2 points through indiscipline & brain farts.

I’d like to see the game back, I don’t usually like placing the blame at the ref’s door but from the stands there was a couple of what looked like dodgy decisions that went against us. Would like to see what the commentators thought.

The ball steal was an incorrect decision,in my view. The Tasi hit was probably a yellow but wouldn’t have been given but for the fact it was televised so there was a video ref. We’ll never know about the disallowed Olpherts try. My gut feeling is that it wasn’t a try, really, but there certainly wasn’t enough definitive proof to overturn it. Finally,I think we beat their pack up,early on,but they responded well. As has been said,we just can’t afford to lose those games where we’re controlling them. Catalans was always a must win but now even more so,if that’s possible.

I feel sorry for Watson. His record isn't great at the moment but the job is a poisoned chalice. He's got very little to work with and no scope to bring in quality, although I may stand corrected on that we'll have to see. Even if Watson went, either by his own hand or pushed, there would be very little interest in taking us on from anyone decent due to our obvious difficulties.
It's still early days yet, but like the team did last year, if we start bad we'll need to improve pretty soon to give us a chance further down the line.
