There needs to be clarity about the GOB sale.If he has gone to improve the squad then Iam all for it.However,if he has gone for financial reasons and if it is true that other players are being touted around for the same reason the board has to come out and say.
I have to say when it was stated that the financial situation at the club was going to continue to improve pre season I was amazed. It's also a major concern that so early in the season we seem to be in trouble-will we finish the season!?
The good intentions that have been stated and plans for new sponsors, etc all smack of similar initiatives in the Wilkinson era.One difference no Wilkinson or a person with money.

I am sorry but I am heartbroken with it all, I and a few others I've spoke to are walking away for good.
I am done with the b*llshit, poured my money and time in for decades and this is the final kick in the balls.
Done with it, this ''board'' need to come out today and clarify the situation for the ones who are going to continue watching.

Is Andy Rosler an asset stripper ?
It appears we are willing to offload more players, G Griffin and R Lannon being mentioned in L E. and many others being made available to other clubs. If we lose such as Lui and Evalds the season will be over, with what to look forward to ?

I would imagine that the new board naively thought the crowds would improve with Koukash gone but now this hasn't happened they are having to make cut backs.
3500 home fans for the season opener is quite poor but to then lose another 1000 for the next home game is pretty shameful really.
Gate receipts are our main source of income now. If people choose not to turn up then fair enough but it's only going to go one way.

Works both ways - strip out all the decent players and even less people will turn up to watch.
I’d prefer that the club did everything it could to end the season on a moderate high and then call it a day rather than this slow death.

I agree but we lost 1000 home fans presumably because Wigan put 40 past us.

Someone posted on another thread that in the first instance we matched what they offered to keep him. They then offered more wages. If that is the case we did try to keep him.Maybe Obrien forced their hand and went for the money. You can't blame him for that, yes Toronto are on the up so was Catalan a bit back watching them on Saturday they will be with us at the end of the season, and their didn't look at lot watching. But the club should definitely come out and say something.

Neither will he be an optimist, assuming big increase in crowds. As an insolvency man,he’s a pessimist, goes with the job. Main income stream is Sky,not gate receipts. My take on this is that we didn’t want to lose GOB but we could offload the other 2 and bring in better players. Everybody has said that we have too many forwards, maybe they wanted to swap for backs.

Fair play to the club for the detail. Also for this phrase
This offer was turned down and it was reiterated to Toronto that Gareth was not for sale on the basis the Club neither wanted nor needed to sell.

Depends how true the statement is. They mention ‘replacements’ so we will see how that turns out.

If that's the reality then good, what is also being widely reported is that Griffin and Lannon are being touted around, we could lose one of those but not both. Can't lose Krasniqi, Griffin, Lannon and BMM but only bring forwards who are being farmed out elsewhere.
The strengthening sounds promising, backs are now needed beyond urgently as that seems to be the weakness teams are exploiting for fun.

LR You wanted a statement, the club issued one. Asked and answered I wasn’t me that asked for it! My post did sound a bit downbeat though - what I meant was if the statement is accurate then it’s welcome news and I do hope we can get some decent replacements in.
