Need to get Manu off the books ASAP. Matty Smith anyone? I thought about MS today myself, obviously he's now 3rd in the queue at Saints. Thing is we looked better with Josh Woods at hooker than Tomkins and the League Express are reporting that there's good news about a young Salford players injury concerns so I'd say that Brining will be back sooner rather than later. So we'll have Brining, Woods and Tomkins looking at the #9 position and I personally don't think JLJ looks like he is the answer @ 7 so we might have 4 decent players looking at the 2 hooker spots each game. Go for Smith of Saints on a season long loan unless they need him back and then let the rest battle for the scraps as we need an old head to run the team round the park, Liu kicking for touch when we were chasing the game and his seemingly habitual need to throw the last kick into the air close the opposition line in wet weather shows his final game management isn't the best.

I've asked this before but surely there is an insurance against this type of season/career ending injury, there really is no point keeping him around if so as its dead money when a replacement is urgently needed. I was told at the KR match we could not afford to pay him off.It could be rubbish but that's what I was told.He probably will not play for us again.

Sports Insurance exists for career finishing injuries but is so expensive that it tends only to be bought by Premiership and Championship football clubs , players for their own benefit plus national associations. As far as I’m aware it’s never been bought by RL clubs. There was some discussion with RU but don’t know what transpired,as their record with career finishing injuries is the worst of the lot,I’d guess.

What ever the figure for Manu is , we cannot afford a lump sum, then pay someone else aswell.
As for Littlejohn going to Hooker do me a favour, we have poss the best up and comming young hooker in sl, in Josh wood, 100% improvement from last season. If we can get Kriss Brinning fit and he can get his fitness back we have 2 of the best Hookers in SL for me.
For me sign Gene put him on the wing outside of Junior, move out BEST PLAYER Back to Fullback, Send our current Fullback out on loan, and tell Littlejohn to step up to the plate . From what little i saw of him down under he was good, he needs to get back to that .

Said yesterday see what it would take to get Luke Briscoe a from Fev and see if he takes to SL after a bit of time back in the lower leagues. Oh I agree in Wood and Brining we have 2 hookers with massive potential and Tomkins while not a world beater is solid. JLJ looks like a duck out of water, agreed what I saw of him in the NRL he has no little skill but he looks anonymous for some reason.

I wouldn't make to many changes, at the end of the day saints are a better side whoever plays. Give LJL more time he's played 3 games at no.7! We'll be ok lets not push the panic buttons just yet

Remember Dobbo at Wigan for his first season? I thought he'd be lynches after some games. Then, like so many Aussie imports, he really improved.

Send our current fullback out on loan? Really?! We’ve got a threadbare back line as it is and two underperforming half backs. Even if he’d had a stinker every game this season I wouldn’t send him out on loan - but in the games I’ve seen even the most blinkered fan would admit he was one of the better performers. Plus he’s our only kicker. That must have been tongue in cheek?
As for signings - even if Manu walks away I think Ormsby is as good as it will get.
And I think we do have time to let Littlejohn bed in as there are a few teams that look at least as shakey as we do. Lets not panic

So what do we do then? He can’t bed in without playing. Very few half backs settle into the team immediately.

I didn't say he should not play.We are not good enough to carry passengers I am not blaming him,it might have been better to have got someone with more experience.

too late now for "someone with more experience". I agree, we should have got C Cronk : what's Sydney got that Salford hasn't?
This is our team, this is who we have, we do not have alternatives. End of.
