A bit OTT don't you think. Why pray tell? Do we own the club. What does that mean I didn't help select the trustees did you or are they just fronts.Koucash was at the game I wonder what he thought.Everyone on this forum wants us to succeed. You said we have a good young squad that will only be proved come the end of the season.I personally don't we lack pace in the backs.

It'sad to say that Friday night was the crystallisation of reality. Funny tho that 75% of fans on here that voted in the "season predictions" thread had us down as finishing top 8. So maybe a few people were a little optimistic eh? Btw, Hull KR look weak and I don't expect Widnes to be ripping up trees so I still think we can avoid the bottom 2. I predicted 9th pre-season and I'm still convinced we can manage that if we buck our ideas up.

Come on lads it’s getting a bit doom and gloom on here at the moment, we should be happy that the greatest game is back Think of all the positives, we’ve lost to a top team in our first game and this won’t shape our season. We have a bright young coach, a good young squad which will only grow and develop compared to some of the aging dross we’ve had over the years. Main thing is WE OWN OUR OWN CLUB!! How mint is that? Who else can say that? It’s in our hands now, no more moaning about the board, we are the board. I truely believe we can smash this and show other clubs the way forward. Let’s stay positive and get behind the lads against wakes and if u can take a mate and buy your tickets through the club Interestingly, I think for the very reasons you've stated is what I think most people are 'negative' about. I suppose it depends on whether you are an optimist or a pessimist at how you look at these things. We have a fairly inexperienced coach who is expected to perform miracles on zero budget. We sold or have lost our best assets from last season. We've replaced them with young untested players for the most part. We do not have the luxury for these guys to grow and develop, they have to hit their peak this season or there very probably wont be a next. I also think that people need to drop the 'we own our own club' fawning like it's some kind of revolution that will save our club. We are in this position because nobody else is stupid enough to throw money into a declining club in a declining sport. The small number of fans we have do not have any money to invest in the club. We're just going to be the final caretakers before the lights go out. By all means we should go out fighting, but I think we need to reel in the 'Salford fans for Salford RL' and 'It's in our own hands' rhetoric as it's just wheeled out as some kind of argument when people question the club. It's a statement not an answer to our problems.
The harsh fact is that we are in a very precarious position and I think it's good that fans are serious about what's happening at the club on and off the field. But we need to be able discuss uncomfortable truths sensibly without being called doom-and-gloomers.
You know what carnster I'm bored with your negativity. "We're just going to be the final caretakers before the lights go out" Why? And who made you caretaker? All we can do as fans is turn up, pay our money and support the team. 1 game in and it's all gone to poop, we're crap, etc etc... What's the worst that can happen? We get relegated? So What? It's happened before and it'll probably happen again. We survived. Why this time will it be the death knell? Michigan please don't reply I'm even more bored of you.

Last night wasn't just about how poor Welham and Johnson are. We have a distinct lack of pace in the backline and it reminds me of a few years ago when Noble was in charge. Last night it was a case of 3 or 4 Wigan attackers on Welham & Johnson. It doesn't mater how good you are, two against 3 or 4 are never going to win especially when the opposition have so much pace. As an observer last night I knew exactly when Wigan were going to switch the ball to the left edges. Why couldn't the team? Last night we dropped the ball about 6 times in attack and 3 or 4 times coming away from our own line. It's those unforced errors that lost us the game. You can't invite a team like Wigan to attack you without making the hard yards first. Dobbo's loss was so evident last night too. We didn't make the correct plays at the right time or control the pace of the game. If we don't address lack of pace, errors and game management we're in the bottom four. spot on! Reality check, we don't have the funds, I hope the trust can find a way of fixing the lack of pace in the back line & giving IW something to work with. Cannot see Manu playing again, hope we can work a deal, which frees up an opportunity to replace. Not sure why we have loaned Olpherts out when we are lacking pace out wide, although I trust IW judgement.

Have been away for the weekend but it looks like I didn't miss much.
If we are all honest we all knew the backline was a concern, when Manu was realistically forced to end his career through injury we lost one of our main sources of go forward from the backs (Junior powerful as he is hasn't the physical stature to do set after set all season), we never really had any pace but Manu at least had some.
I keep saying Johnson is more of a centre than winger now so for me there is only Olpherts to play out wide as again Bibby if he is going to make the starting grade in SL is a centre.
I would go to Wakefield and see if we can have MCB on loan and get this kid we are reported to be looking at from the NRL ASAP, the problem you have now is with the lack of an academy system there are very few youngsters floating around that other teams might have let slip through the net.
As for the reported incident of some halfwit throwing beer think it is the true fans duty to single him out to stewards during the game and help them police the game, shouldn't be needed but there is a(small for now) element of this type of person threatening to turn a family sport into one you keep kids away from.

If you're bored with me then don't bother connecting with me on here. Job done eh?
I'll break this one down for you...
"We're just going to be the final caretakers before the lights go out" Why? And who made you caretaker? - We as in the fans. Not I as in me. Fairly simple that one.
1 game in and it's all gone to poop, we're crap, etc etc... No we've been awful since we became safe in the regular season last year and besides, at no point did I knee-jerk at the weekends result.
What's the worst that can happen? We get relegated? So What? - With the current state of the game in general, relegation has further reaching consequences than previous years not to mention the restructuring that is going to happen at the end of this season. The thing that can help sustain the likes of HKR and Leigh when they go down is support, something we don't have in sufficient numbers.
It's happened before and it'll probably happen again. - See my previous. Relegation for us will almost certainly solidify us into second-tier RL
We survived. - The events of the past will have little bearing on our future.
Why this time will it be the death knell? - See above.
Why so aggressive? The point is to come on here and discuss in a sensible manner. Your whine is like someone buying a jazz mag just to complain about the t1ts in it. We can discuss if you want, but you need to be a little more polite.

I'm a positive generally ... the performance depressed me and I saw few genuine "goods" to take us forward. The quality was not there and neither was the attitude.
Now that can take you two ways as an RL fan, a bit like the FTSE share index, down or how to invest in the next time?
As realist if we win at Wakey I'll be gobsmacked and many of the reasons for that have been posted on here. Any time the team performance fills me with dread for the next week can't be good for my morale or health.
Having said that we can improve and beyond that, the two Sky matches were good, the Wolfpack looked the real deal and the live streamed french match proved proved to be a lead swapping cracker. Gotta love RL!

Personally I think Wakefield will finish top 4 this season having improved their squad in the off-season with Pauli Pauli and the return of Johnstone on the wing.
Therefore if we lose on Friday by a narrow margin I won't be too concerned. If we take another beating however, I'll be a little bit worried.
