Just get used to it everyone, I'm afraid this is our season and we'll have to buckle up for the ride.

I know its early days and we shouldn't write the season off after one game, but I think we could be in for a long hard season . We'll just have to see how we get on at Wakefield next week. Our defence out wide is shocking! I don't think we're too bad in the forwards though.

Let’s not forget that 2 years ago we conceded 40+ against Hull on the first game of the season and but for the points deduction, we would have finished in the top 8. This was the 1st game of the season against a top 4 team. We lost it with multiple unforced errors on the 1st tackle after which we didn’t see the ball for 5 minutes. Yes our right side defence was awful and the fact that Johnson was hauled off shows us that Watto saw it too. So let’s not over-react and say the season is over already, yes we were poor but it is a long season and hey, at least we weren’t as bad as Cas were last night

This is precisely why I was baffled at the people claiming we’d be better off without Koukash. Accept it fellas, this is all we’ve got. The only saving grace is that we know they CAN play better, wether they do or not is another story.

The only saving grace is that we know they CAN play better, wether they do or not is another story. I’m not sure that anyone thought we’d be better off without him. People knew he wouldn’t stay too long and were fed up with his mouthing off but everybody accepted that he saved the club and, without another benefactor, money would be tight

Come on lads it’s getting a bit doom and gloom on here at the moment, we should be happy that the greatest game is back Think of all the positives, we’ve lost to a top team in our first game and this won’t shape our season. We have a bright young coach, a good young squad which will only grow and develop compared to some of the aging dross we’ve had over the years. Main thing is WE OWN OUR OWN CLUB!! How mint is that? Who else can say that? It’s in our hands now, no more moaning about the board, we are the board. I truely believe we can smash this and show other clubs the way forward. Let’s stay positive and get behind the lads against wakes and if u can take a mate and buy your tickets through the club

"we have a right to his the team to get the basics right." Yes we do and under-cooked is what they were so they can improve! But low expectations are the only things on the menu.
"why I was baffled at the people claiming we’d be better off without Koukash." People's beliefs take them where they see it as being better. but it's a bit like Brexit and the chickens coming home to roost.
"I’m not sure that anyone thought we’d be better off without him." I think they did Bonita and I'm sure quite a few said as much on here.
I admit I thought the squad wasn't as bad as it was being painted but the performance certainly was and does not bode well. I don't think they would have beaten any SL on Friday, And being in the million pound game is about as good as it's going to get.
In a year where it seems likely there'll be some SL/RFL jiggery-pokery about which teams are in and which ones will be out this is even more crucial than other seasons.

Hoping for a decent performance next week especially with it being on tv, then couple of weeks off hopefully get some marketing done get a decent crowd for kr. Anyone know what the attendance was on Friday?

Let’s stay positive and get behind the lads against wakes and if u can take a mate and buy your tickets through the club Interestingly, I think for the very reasons you've stated is what I think most people are 'negative' about. I suppose it depends on whether you are an optimist or a pessimist at how you look at these things. We have a fairly inexperienced coach who is expected to perform miracles on zero budget. We sold or have lost our best assets from last season. We've replaced them with young untested players for the most part. We do not have the luxury for these guys to grow and develop, they have to hit their peak this season or there very probably wont be a next. I also think that people need to drop the 'we own our own club' fawning like it's some kind of revolution that will save our club. We are in this position because nobody else is stupid enough to throw money into a declining club in a declining sport. The small number of fans we have do not have any money to invest in the club. We're just going to be the final caretakers before the lights go out. By all means we should go out fighting, but I think we need to reel in the 'Salford fans for Salford RL' and 'It's in our own hands' rhetoric as it's just wheeled out as some kind of argument when people question the club. It's a statement not an answer to our problems.
The harsh fact is that we are in a very precarious position and I think it's good that fans are serious about what's happening at the club on and off the field. But we need to be able discuss uncomfortable truths sensibly without being called doom-and-gloomers.

Fair enough, I guess we’re not gonna agree on this one.
