The Doc appears to have put this particular rumour back to bed again on Twitter.

I can't cope with the feel good! It's not natural!
Great news. Club is managing the drip of good news really well.
Feels like there's a proper long term plan going on.

Good long term thinking to offer Jake and Josh two year contracts. With the new salary cap rules, as they're through our youth system, if these players become important first team regulars by the end of this contract, then we can offer decent contracts to keep them at the club without knackering the salary cap. It's going to require long term thinking like this to remain competetive in the years to come, as the strongest squads will be those that make use of the marquee players, and the retention of home grown talent. We are a long way behind some clubs in this regard, but this is a good step in the right direction.

Well that was the most predictable draw for us. They'll just be kicking themselves they drew the warm balls in the wrong order.

Well, I've just finished watching that on't box. Pretty miserable scoreline, but I'm not going to read too much into it.
3 day turnaround vs 5. Hooker off after 10 minutes not to return. S'au off early. No subs, big forwards having to do 80 minutes in heat on no recovery time. Pretty much unwinnable set of circumstances. Bounce of the ball went, as it always does, with the side on top. I wonder if we're placed in that situation again, whether it's worth playing as many squad players as possible to avoid knock-on effects from fatigue down the line.
My only real gripe is that Todd Carney seemed pretty anonymous. Was hoping for a bit more, but behind a tired and beaten pack, maybe I'm asking too much.

Went to a match at Palau years ago. Lovely people. Glass of red wine, rugby league, and snow on the Pyrenees.
Recommended.

Not earth shattering changes. But good steps in the right direction.
The second marquee player is presumably to keep George Williams in Superleague.

Interesting. Widnes match aside, we've only scored one more try than we've conceded too, so we're getting good at winning close games. The team are mentally in a good place.

Another way of looking at it; Lose those three wins, and we're on 4 league points, win the two we lost, and we're 1st with 14. Whilst scoring and conceding the same number of tries.
With the same attack and defence on the pitch, goalkicking is the difference between 10th and 1st place.

What a difference it makes. I know it's obvious, but it's interesting to look at it all together;
Vs Wakefield, 4 tries each, we lose by 2. Vs Leeds, 3 tries each, lose by 6. Vs Hudds, 4 tries each, win by 10 Vs Cas, 2 tries each, win by 1 Vs Saints, 3 tries each, win by 8.
5 matches in 8 where all that has separated the sides is goals. We've won 3 of them.
So many of our games are even on tries scored, that the goals are extra important for us.
Last night it was even more important, as the extra points got us far enough ahead that it forced Saints to play a different game. They didn't just tip it our way when the hooter went, they changed the events on the field.

Saints are in good form with their half back combination finally on the park. I'd have them as slight favourites.
Key thing here is not to get depressed about it if we lose, so long as we run them close and work hard.
Can't make it tonight, at work. Wish I was going! Should be an entertaining one at least.
With Child reffing it's doubly important we don't get into penalty mode. He tends to amplify a situation like that and we could end up with a big count against. Keep it clean and we stay in the match.
Have fun!

I agree. No problem with players doing what's best for them. It's a short career. If he goes, I hope he goes out on a high after a great season.

Won't be Toulouse. Knocked out by Batley. Wouldn't object to a trip to Mount Pleasant.
