Discipline. We let them back into the game through poor discipline. We have got to cut the penalties if we want to give Leeds a game.
However, that aside, it’s nice to get the win and there were some quality tries. Scoreline flattered Catalans.

Littlejohn named on the bench. Josh Wood plays scrum half. Interesting to see how that pans out.

On Twitter it says that Marwan will match ticket sales on the day for good Friday from his own pocket. The idea being that existing fans are encouraged to bring a new or lapsed fan with them.

An odd game. I thought man for man we were better nearly all over the park. Yet we lost. The yellow card put us on the back foot, and we lost the energy advantage we’d built up in the first half. And the obstruction was needless. I really didn’t understand the decision when we presumably got done for a ball strip when we were in possession. Will need to see that again to understand, but fundamentally we blew a winning position with stupid penalties.

I agree. I guess for the big clubs, those rare wins over the aussie sides probably feel like this. But yeah, for the 20 years I've been a fan, I've always hugely enjoyed the wins when they come, especially when they're so utterly unexpected like this. Lifts you up for the whole week.

The proof of this pudding will be in our positive action in the transfer market. I look forward to seeing it happen! For now, I'm happy to give the new board the benefit of the doubt. After all, it's not their fault that we lost a certain amount of trust in previous managements. If they keep their word here, I'll be happy to trust them again in the future. It feels like a big test for the new board and their relationship with the fans.

Cas were nothing special but we gave them a twenty point lead for free. We were utterly off the pace. Now I’ve heard the Gaz O’Brien rumour, perhaps that explains it. I think we completed two sets in the first half hour, and gave away stacks of cheap penalties.
The only crumb of comfort is that our defensive structure was actually pretty good. Two tries came from failing to deal with average kicks. We’d have won this game if we’d turned up. Two points lost in my opinion. Pretty down about the result. Even more down about the rumours.
As an aside, Castleford were excellent on the accessibility front. My girlfriend is a wheelchair user and they sorted out a free parking space, a discounted ticket for her and a free one for me. And couldn’t have been more helpful at the ground. Best disabled policy and practice in the league so far in our experience. Decent real ale at £3.50 a pint too.

No wonder they looked so distracted in the first half. I did wonder what was up with them.

Looking forward to it. First one I’ve been able to get to this year. Could go either way. Either Cas really get their season up and running, or we surprise them.

Warrington do have a habit of signing a player and then using them in a way that negates what’s good about them. See Darryl Clarke for example. BMM was great once we figured out how to use him.

A loss - but we made the super league and world champions dig deep, even though they were at pretty much full strength. Effort was there. With a few more big games like that, we'll learn how to win them.
Proud of the team.

In that case Jermaine McGillvary. Absolutely great winger, fast, powerful, scores bags of tries in a side that have been poor for a couple of years. Good attitude. Fills an identified gap in the team. Cheers OK good point jeffmcrib ! Seeing as though virtually everyone has chosen an NRL player - if you could pick ONE Super League player who would it be?

This and Evalds is enough to put a big smile back on my face after Friday! Great news, Lui has been sensational all year. He really looks like he's enjoying himself when he's on the pitch.
