Well this is now a massive fixture, I can live with not being in the CC but the display and limited effort on Friday was very poor. Another performance were the team crumbles is not acceptable, this Leigh home match is a massive game. They beat a very poor Hull side and then had a tussle with Fev. We can have no excuses for not being bang up for this match. I'd like to see Norfoalumo play assume Mellor will be available. Ipape and Asiata are huge misses for Leigh, they are vulnerable out wide to pace although Hanley has come in and done a fantastic job. I am expecting a big response on Saturday evening post the cup exit, Rowley has said all the right things post match. I agree with your sentiments that the Leigh game is massive in that it is another 2 points It shouldn't need a Philadelphia lawyer to let The boys know that the performance last Friday was not acceptable and that they let down their selves Paul Rowley and the people who went over to Hull to support them. I am not giving them an excuse, because their isn't any but in mitigation I don't think many will win at Hull KR this season finally as i have said previously lets put it down to a bad day at the office.

You only really learn when you get things wrong…so a lot will be learnt…I think esp how to get off te line when defending aka Saints and now KR If we started doing the same thing we would be penalised of the park We have put it down to a bad day at the office and moved on.

About the BBC I do think they have treated Rugby League as a filler ever since I started watching in the fifties When union was the old school tie and the 5 nations got the full treatment and it was over to Eddie Waring after the 2 20 at Kempton for us,when they started their own floodlit Trophy we only got the second half untill the final Mind you that was time the newscaster red the 9 pm news in a dinner suit. Its still the old school tie without the union.

Russ I suggest you Google IMG and see what they do worldwide in most sports I would suggest the problem is not the skills and resources of IMG but the intransigence of the RFL and the top four clubs At least an outside agency with its skill set has a chance, doing it via internal means has never worked. This year there is some structure, some goals and some achievements…I like every match on tv each weekend and every match with a video ref and a measuring device to give some value to each club etc Just embrace it with an open mind because we don’t have anything else and if it fails we’ve learnt a great deal from those with worldwide sports expertise. JJR Does the dinosaur at Saint Helens know this.

Russ what are on about every team can loose a game that they probably should win and let's be honest Wigan have had far better teams than the one on offer last night in fact Hanley's team would have wiped the floor with it. Dixon if you don't want to discuss things that's absolutely fine. Russ you and I can discuss what you want.

I see what BDD is saying on specific points like Atkin not kicking on the last and the tackle that forced the drop out. For me the biggest error was not taking two points, we had two opportunities to do this. Keep the scoreboard ticking. Anyhow I cannot fault commitment or effort, we just played dumb the last 8 minutes. Just need to learn from it and move on, I'm confident this team will pickup wins with the games we have coming up. Also Norfoalumo and Ryan need minutes. Surely it doesn't matter about specific points every games is different what Sneyd did last night he might do it again and it might come off, yes you can say they should have done this or that and it still might not have of worked, you could have said Wigan should have done this or that and we wouldn't have scored I think some on the forum think the game is played on a white board it's not it's played on grass. I remember a cup tie at Wheldon Road in 1971 if Billy Kirkbride had stuck his arm out another six inches and put the ball over the line we would have won,he didn't and we lost

No Russ I was awake when we had the great team of the Snape era That team would in my humble opinion would of won by 30 Points last night. But a trophy with this squad will surpass what they achieved That's what I ment as you well know The Snape era team was quite capable of giving away a game they should've won and did so on plenty of occasions. They were brilliant to support but let's not put somewhere they don't belong.
I agree with you about the trophy though.

If we get a trophy it will be the best season I have had watching the club since 1954 I wouldn't bet on it even with your money. Also in a game their is things we can't control i e the decisions the ref makes because they are subjective like the six again a stupid rule in my opinion even free kicks it's the refs opinion so they get things wrong as I am sure we do Personally I am to engrossed in proceedings than to be looking to see if we are abiding by the rules, and lastly if Mr Kendall had last night told me it was Thursday I would have then proceeded to a calender to make certain. Because I remember the same person give Saints an helping hand in the Grand Final that they didn't need. Did you fall asleep for a few years when we had Dion etc?
You're spot on about reffing they pick thungs up they're not generally wrong but it is subjective and sometimes it's almost impossible to see why they gave something. Quite a few times in any given game there are a few decsions that seem too picky for words.
I've said lots of times that it's not a club's discipline but what refs pick out, given that SL is a sport that in terms of the rules tends to favour those with the ball probably a little too often. This makes sides with superior and bigger squads that much harder to beat.
In their comments last night the pundits referred to Salford's discipline record but also made the point that none of it was based on maliciousness or cheating. And I think that was one of the most insightful point I've ever heard a pundit say. We have a record that's based on decisions made and alot of times at the same event and time the other side could have been penalised just as easily. I don't see refs as bent though I think the rules are slightly. The things that pleases me most is SRD as a team have learned to cope with the game's bias and still compete. I don't think refs will improve and because of our outlook we don't need them to.

What a shame SRD desrved a much closer run thing at worst. And I think people need to stop scrambling around for who to blame. Give over. You don't think the players are to responsible for those last 10 minutes? It isn't blame, it's identifying areas we need to onprove. We were awesome for 70 minutes. Then lost our cool and composure as soon as they went down to 12. We did the same against Saints and that is something hat a professional sports team needs to accept, look at, and fix. Passing the ball to Atkin and being tackled on the last play when we had momentum. The ball should have gone on the ground which has been causing them problems. Getting tackled and dragged back over the line is poor. It had happened earlier and you need to be aware. Run the ball out and dive down towards their legs. Yes, the ref will call surrender and they can hold you down longer. So what? We're winning and we want the clock to run. Kicking the drop out short. Shocking decision given the circumstance. We're winning. Wigan were down to 12 men and we had been defending well. Get he ball as far away from the line as possible. Offisde at the KO. This is just unforgivable. That was out final hope of getting back possession of the ball. We were class for 70 minutes. Hardly put a foot wrong. There are loads of positives. The effort was immense, especially given some players weren't at 100% and we had players out injured. We've clearly worked on our discipline too. And, at times we look dangerous against a top defence. Plus lots of other great things... but that doesn't hide the discussion about the final 10 minutes or how we have responded to teams going down to 12 men the past two weeks. Objectively that is something the team must work on. We threw that away in the final 10. Also, more constructive criticism, we should look at how Wigan defend their edges and replicate it rather than rushing out and leaving space. Our squad it took tin to challenge for the GF. But, given how we've played this year, if we fix up that edge defence and play smarter situationally we could have a real punt at the CC and get a trophy. All as anyone can ask,is that their is effort and their is in a abundance we can go on about the last 5 minutes and the drop out he thought it was the right thing to do let's give them a bit of slack.

In my opinion we should have taken the 2 on offer under the sticks, otherwise I thought we performed well.

Well you need to drop one of those above Dixon as you can't have 2 players being the greatest player you've seen.😁 David Watkins.Because he played both codes
