I don't normally respond to these "RIP xxxx" threads, but this is different. Dai Watkins stood out at a time when the game was full of giants. He was the first super star I remember watching live. RIP Dai.

I was under the impression that at the beginning Paul King was saying it was Moor Lane we could not stay at the AJB we could go to the Etihad if that was the fans wish he would be leaving the club. Dixon, I live miles away, so I will preface what I say with an apology in case I am wrong. I never got the impression that PK was pushing for Moor Lane. I always felt that he was looking at the situation we were in and analysing all the ways forward we could think of. We had no money. We couldn't even pay the rent. We were possibly facing eviction. Our crowds were 3-4 thousand. In those circumstances, relocation had to be examined. Moor Lane was one possibility, the Etihad was another, even Gigg Lane was suggested. As CEO, he had to look at all possibilities, he would have been remiss not to do so. The result is a much more stable situation. We are not 100% secure, but we are in better shape than we were. The job is half done. Let's press on.

A win is a win and now we are at the business end I don't really care about style. However 7 straight losses seem to have knocked the stuffing out of the crowd last night which is a shame. We need to keep this momentum and hopefully we can make top 6. Next week will be tough, but following that we have a few more winnable games. Love a win on a Friday as gives me a spring in my step all weekend:) You make some good points, kilop, but I don't see any "more winnable games". Wigan (A), Wire (H), HKR (A) and Catalans (H). I suppose the Wire game is "winnable", but we are dire at home. HKR have hit some form and are strong at home, so I don't see a W from this one. Catalans pack is so much stronger and bigger than ours that I'll just say "no comment". So, Wigan. Nah! I really hope I'm wrong, but I fear not. We've had some high points this year, so I'll try to focus on those and look forward. Sorry if I seem to be a doom monger, but that's just how I see it.

Thanks to both Russ and Dixon. I think it's time to give Sky the two-finger salute and do our own thing, perhaps using YouTube. The quality will be poorer, but we will preserve our dignity and we won't be whoring ourselves out to the man with the fattest wallet. They never wanted us, except as a bargaining chip for Aussie RL.

What does "30 day exclusive negotiating period" mean? It was in the Super League tweet. Does it mean that the RFL are negotiating only with Sky? If so, why don't we just tell Sky that we'll take whatever they want to give us? Let's see how far 10 bob a year stretches?

Huddersfield v Salford by 7 St Helens by 16 v Hull KR Wakefield by 8 v Castleford Wigan by 14 v Hull FC Leigh v Catalan by 8 Leeds by 6 v Warrington I'm a bit worried as most people are tipping Salford this week despite our terrible run and Hudds pick up in form! I thought long and hard before going for a Salford win. Points to note: we're away (our home form is rubbish), the losing streak has to end sometime (sure?), we've had an extra week to prepare, we tend to do well against Hudds. Finally, I've predicted losses lately and I was beginning to feel like a traitor, so ...

The only thing you can say about the premier league is have found some guts, the clowns at Old Trafford last night gave all been stud down.Because that was certainly the so called big team syndrome. The Wolves manager as got an apology, that will great if they get relegated by a point. Rowleys outburst as not been punished, why because those running our game haven't got any guts either to apologise to us or sanction Rowley. The fact that they haven't sanctioned Rowley (yet!), suggests to me that they know he's right.
