I think they're both great but bring very different qualities to the team. I know stats shouldn't be read into, especially in isolation, but consider that we only won 3x league games with Evalds at fullback last year... Including the 8s. If we have a similar gameplan as last year, O'Brien should be a shoe in. Hopefully we'll have multiple gameplans and be able to take advantage of them both fully throughout the season though... Or is that being too hopeful?! |

That for me was one of the problems last season, we had no plan B so when everyone spotted the GOB wide link it was so easy to snuff our attacking threat, with such a big aggressive pack I can see us trying to stream roller teams rather than create chances with nous, just hope Lui and JLJ are given a little license to show their flair going forward. Think deep down Evalds is the much better quality fullback of the pair, while he might not create the chances GOB does his finishing and knack of being in the right place at the right time is unquestionable, quiet honestly if there is a way both need to be in the 13. |
