Yes I also like this. In the MEN there is an article on the new crest, with Marwan saying they spoke to a lot of people (fans ?) about it's design. He never spoke to me, just who are the lots of people ? We all got consulted on it, scoot. Did you not get the letter? No, I've only followed Salford for 62 years so I may not qualify as a fan yet

I don’t mind the new badge given the traditional look of it and I much prefer it to its predecessor. I still think it could have been better though and I’m not convinced by the lines although appreciate their meaning. I would have preferred obvious symbols. I agree that the old style devil should have been the focal point with perhaps the tree in a background quarter. I also think the club missed a trick by not having the Red Rose of Lancs in one of the background quarters. Salfordians I presume would have approved given the historic identity and also 5 times lancs cup winners. Furthermore this would have been a good subtle marketing ploy to encourage fans from the wider county. Man City put the red rose back on their badge for ‘traditional’ reasons but I firmly believe it was a marketing ploy to tap into lancs towns to the north of Manchester - it has worked as I see more City shirts (unfortunately for my football team) in these pastures than ever before. Alternatively that could be because city are now relatively successful? I don’t put much value in to the crest, shirt, sponsor etc attracting fans. If we have a marketable product with some decent marketing we’l be good

nobody was asked about the change to your avatar either. I know right? Most like it but a small minority said they prefer a sharper, closer image to best show off the magnificent Victorian 'tache. A few don't like it as they say that a psychopathic gang leader isn't as marketable as a man with a big hat. But most are happy that being draped in the flag is back.
