Initially not a fan, but it’s growing on me especially with the meanings explained. I am glad it includes Salford again.

Just better, much better. Yes I also like this. In the MEN there is an article on the new crest, with Marwan saying they spoke to a lot of people (fans ?) about it's design. He never spoke to me, just who are the lots of people ? |

I’ve had a day to digest the badge and it’s still awful! Seriously who the hell does the club have in charge of these sorts of things? It’s a nice thought to have meanings behind the badge but the main purpose of the badge is to put on MERCHANDISE. I know it’s only a badge but if they can’t get this right it doesn’t bode well. A willow tree?? Come on! (Apologies for the rant)

I don’t mind the new badge given the traditional look of it and I much prefer it to its predecessor.
I still think it could have been better though and I’m not convinced by the lines although appreciate their meaning. I would have preferred obvious symbols. I agree that the old style devil should have been the focal point with perhaps the tree in a background quarter.
I also think the club missed a trick by not having the Red Rose of Lancs in one of the background quarters. Salfordians I presume would have approved given the historic identity and also 5 times lancs cup winners. Furthermore this would have been a good subtle marketing ploy to encourage fans from the wider county.
Man City put the red rose back on their badge for ‘traditional’ reasons but I firmly believe it was a marketing ploy to tap into lancs towns to the north of Manchester - it has worked as I see more City shirts (unfortunately for my football team) in these pastures than ever before.

Think in theory it's good but the execution is a bit pish.
We shouldn't drop Dr Devil as he/it is incredibly child friendly and we all want to see more kids coming to games.
I can see the new design working well if this yrs shirt is very traditional, if it's garish then it will fade into the background and look out of place.

There is another crest and another name for some reason.
The supporters now support Salford RLFC, a club and name which doesn't exist and are choosing from 3 randomly chosen crests for some reason.
How many crests and names do we want?
