Obviously your fears were well founded , and once again the club has handled the situation poorly, with no news on the matter and then another poorly worded news item and then confirmation of the deal. All it required was an announcement of the deal as it occurred then lots of the hysteria that has taken place would not have happened. We have already renewed our season tickets as a family(six adults and four juniors) and we would have still renewed if an announcement about BMM had been made public but it leaves a bad taste the way that it has been handled.

But remember people buy your season ticket your club needs you.
Tried to copy in Blease on my feelings on Twitter and I'm blocked, if you do come on here Ian you're a coward a fucking yellow coward.
Do your job and liase with fans not prevent them having an opinion or how your employers are doing a sterling job getting rid of the few fans you HAD left.
Thanks Ben, one of the best entertainers I've seen in a Salford shirt.

Sickening but understandable.

For a professional sports club and supposedly an improving business, they have handled this appallingly. What little bit they've handled. It's not the selling of BMM (Although for a club who wants to go places selling it's best asset is somewhat retarded) it's the usual way they've poorly handled it happening.
Shameful.

I may have missed some part of this process - I'm the first to admit I don't pay that much attention these days - but I'm struggling to see what there is to criticise here? As an aside, I find this whole transfer very depressing for another reason: one of the best players in the League going for (a reported) £175,000... 21 years after Saints paid £400,000 for Paul Newlove. Yet another indicator of the stagnation of top flight Rugby League. SaveSave

The official site says the following: "As disappointing as it was allowing Ben to leave it, will now enable the Club to strengthen and kick on from last season’s success.
Ian Watson has been actively scouting for the players he feels he needs to make this Salford squad a force to be reckoned with for a second consecutive season".

I was expecting him to leave but i feel so annoyed, i'm more annoyed now than when i came out of the church in 2013 when the club didn't know if it would survive.

Yes good to see we have a joint feeder arrangement with Warrington Myler, Ratchford, Ben. Mind you we got Murray!

SaveSaveSelling your best asset to a competitor for a pittance, allegedly against his wishes, while communicating very little to fans that are genuinely worried and unsure of whether to financially commit to season tickets. Couple this with the brilliantly timed trustee board takeover farce that should have been sorted before the crucial recruitment in pre-season. A couple of drab championship players drafted in and key players let go. Owners and CEO's blocking people with concerned questions on social media. I'd say shameful is being kind.

I don't disagree regarding the ownership/management situation - that has undoubtedly been shambolic, likewise with the Twitter nonsense that goes on (although frankly, the sooner Twitter implodes the better as far as I am concerned). However, I find it difficult to find fault with the BMM situation. It's a shame if he in fact wanted to stay, but the reality is that we all need to re-adjust our expectations back to Wilky-era Salford... and that means selling our best players if someone comes in with a cheque. I find some of the hysteria on social media (esp Facebook) is laughable to be honest. Firstly, we no longer have the funds to be able to hold on to an asset like BMM and therefore the club needed to cash in. Secondly, as good a player as he is, we aren’t suddenly a very poor team without him. If you look at his career at Salford he probably had half a season in total when he was outstanding and has had a lot of games where he’s gone missing. Where was he for the last ten games of this season?? Also, the periods he played well in this season (and many of the tries) were due to Rob Lui feeding him the perfect short pass that they obviously worked on. Once Rob Lui wasn’t playing, Ben was nowhere near as effective.
Apologies for the rant but basically I feel that we can still compete if we use the money from the transfer wisely. Replacing Dobbo is more important!

I am gutted to see him go. I knew it was coming once the news was leaked a few weeks ago, but had started to try and convince myself he was staying. Unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Big Ben could disappear in some matches, but when he did appear everybody knew about it!!
I hope to read of some good signings in the not too distant future.

On the positive side Ben cost nothing, played well at the start of each season, lost it a bit towards the end but also has bad knees and a tad overweight.
It unsettles the squad though.

Got to say , I felt physically sick when it was confirmed Ben had gone to Warrington...So much for Koucash saying , never again will we lose players because of money. Yes, he may have saved us, but, if he was really a devil through and through, he wouldn't have walked away ,taking his money with him. A true supporter would have kept ploughing the money in regardless. After all, it's not as if he needs it reportedly.
