Im genuinely concerned about next season i know it's not for another 4/5 months, but from rumours about signing players we're after. I feel we're 2/3 injuries from a shocking season probably nailed on bottom4. 1. Evalds 2/3 new players 4 sau 5 vatuvei 6 lui 7 new player - Gaz maybe deserves a chance 8 Koppy 9 New player 10 Tasi 11 BMM but spell him better 12 Jones 13 Flanaghan 14 New prop 15 Mossop not sure he'll recover 16 Brining 17 Mccarthy Leaves Hauraki, Tomkins, Williams, Welham, Johnson, Bibby, Wood, Murray, Olpherts, Lannon & Griffiin - squad players Not sure if ive missed anyone off but 6 quality players and im telling you we'll be high up the league it wont happen though we'll be buying lower league players and hope it works out. Massive gamble We can’t be having a meltdown just yet with the season just finished yet. Watson has said time and time again that he likes to have a core of youngish british players and over the past few years they aren’t particularly the ones that have let us down and got us to where we are now. For next year first team wise i don’t think we’ll change an awful lot and we shouldn’t for consistency sake. Watson has to decide once and for all if it’s O’brien or Evalds for the 1 shirt and for me it’s Obrien Obrien Vatuvei Sau/Bibby NEW PLAYER/ Olpherts/ Whelham NEW PLAYER/ Johnson/ Evalds/ Williams Lui NEW SIGNING/ Wood Koppy Tomkins Tasi Murdoch Masila Jones/ McCarthy/Huaraki Flanagan Brining McCarthy/ Huaraki/ Jones/ Lannon Mossop Griffin/ Murray McCarthy for Krasniqi Vatuvei for Carney Need to replace Dobson, Walne x2, New centre and Wing Halfback- Walsh? Smith? Prop- Levy Nzoungou? Daniel Smith? Centre- Ben Crooks? Wing- ?? Ben Crooks and Nzoungou are still just rumours up to this point anyway.

Let's look at the squad as a whole and see what we have in current positions;
Fullback: Evalds Obrien
Wings: Beast Johnson
Centre: Sau Whelham Bibby Olpherts
Standoff: Lui
Scrumhalf: Wood
Hooker: Tomkins Brining
Props: Koppy Tasi Mossop Murray Griffin
Backrowers: BMM Jones Huaraki Flanagan McCarthy Lannon
As you can see from that there are a number of positions we are still light in, as I've said before my priorities (and surely IW's as he always reads my posts) would be;
Scrumhalf - proven top of their game 2 props - big and experienced Winger - speedster Good centre - Olpherts could turn out another gem but he hasn't played a game at SL level yet....can we put all our eggs in one basket in the hope he's going to be another Brining?

Looks good AR but think that we need extra half back cover, as per Carney, as well. Not sure O'Brien or Woods there yet.
Back row also as I think Hauraki and possibly Jones not that mobile for back row (although Jones needs to train to run straight and use power and speed). Now become props.
Think Bibby will be a good centre so maybe a winger with speed is enough. Maybe just one prop.
You're right we're really going to miss Dobson and need somebody organising the backs. Rob L needs to be more vocal now to help sort.
Williams and Bent available, might get the odd game but not sure where they're up to in their development. Gee who went to London seems to have matured.

I asked someone who is involved with every home (and many away) games with Hairnets: he has been impressed with Bennion. He sees him as a raw big forward who will develop under full-time training.

Some players from a lower division raise to the challenge of SL and you'd hope Bennion and any other potential new recruits will do just this, he couldn't possibly have a better role model than CK.

I think next season will be critical for Salford long term in my opinion .Not only team wise but crowd wise.Who ever we sign surely they have to be lot better than what we already have.I can't see what we have already signed causing a rush for season tickets.
