Last night was the second worse refereeing performance that I ever seen. The worst was when he last refereed us

For what it's worth, and I'm not saying this just to be contrary,I don't think Walmsley was a sending off. It was different to Watts and I think we all agree that Lannon was clear cut. I just didn't see the Walmsley incident as a straight elbow. Childs is a crap referee but, watching on tv,he wasn't as bad as is being described here. There was one blatant forward pass but that didn't lead to anything. I'd be happy if he never refereed another game, and took Jack Smith with him, but I think he called the main decisions correctly. If the disciplinary call it differently, then I'll accept that I'm wrong.

Have a look at the Walmesley 1st try. He hits Walne again, square on the jaw with his elbow. He just missed a bit with the second.
You can't lead with your elbow.

It was one of the worst displays I have seen in over 60 years of watching the game.If I had come from Wigan to see if Salford could do us a favour,I could of left after 20 minutes because Childs was not going to let it happen. If I had come as a neutral to watch a game for the first time, that man would have put me of commig again.Refereeing performance like that could incite trouble. He refereed that game with one eye closed. If what I have said his wrong then we must be the most indisaplind team in the world.

I didn't watch the game as a neutral,I watched it as someone who explodes when I see that it's bloody Childs yet again. We've had worse refereeing displays than that in the last 6 weeks, let alone 60 years. Walmsley is a handful but his running style is nothing new

Isn't Childs from the Wigan area? If so, thought last night of all nights he might have give us a break...

If the disciplinary call it differently, then I'll accept that I'm wrong. The officials last night were hopelessly out of their depth, forget the Walmsley incidents, forget the Lannon incident and concentrate on the way that the game went. I haven't seen any replays but four people that I know have and the unanimous verdict was that Walmsley should have been sent off and the fact that the Sky team felt he shouldn't have got a red card proves that he should have got one. Offsides,a different set of rules for each side. Play the balls, different rules for each side. Professional fouls, different rules for different sides. Back chat to the referee different each side. Use of video ref,I was in the West Stand Row S Right Hand side and I could see that Reagon Grace attempt at a try was no try,Touch judge and Referee nearby see nothing and its up to the video ref, ridiculous. Forward passes, different interpretations for each side. I have never seen as many people stand up altogether and openly mock the officials and the sad thing is,the officials deserved all the ridicule that they got. One last point if Gareth Hock had been in Walmsley's place last night would it have been put on report?

You can't lead with your elbow. Well it seems you can and Sky pundits will not only defend it but say there's nothing wrong with that. But the sending off v non-sending off is not the issue with the refs performance.

Lets face it the sport of Rugby League is bent. I've played and watched the sport for a lot of years now, the whole system is corrupt, if your not in the right gang you don't get a level playing field. Its not just decisions on the field but off it as well. They don't like the boat to be rocked.
One example we get warned to find a new ground or get relegated, Cas & Wakey carry on oblivious to any warnings, we nearly go out of business.
A lack of moral compass comes to mind.

Isn't there still a case going on by Childs against Salford? If so he should not have been reffing the game. He has a agenda against Salford and always has done. The sport is bent and most fans know it. Disciplinary will take a early plea and no ban or it will just be ignored and given as it's alright for Saints to do this. They will also do their utmost to get a Leeds and Saints final, would not want the status quo changing would they. This was even classed as the dream final by the Sky tossers last night,

This was even classed as the dream final by the Sky tossers last night, He was hit by a plastic pint glass at the end of the Leeds game but don't know what the outcome was. Plus the Justin Carney incident I think it's fair to say that the guy just doesn't like us. As far as the dream final goes, I hope Cas win it. They deserve it.

My particular issue is not really anything apart from the penalty count. In as simple a game as RL where the trade off between possession and position are paramount and the fact that both teams have the same simple strategies when it comes to the tackle and the ruck How can you have an imbalance in penalty counts? Yet consistently games are determined by that very thing.Only those who are or have been rarely at the wrong end of such counts can put the blame and onus on the penalized team(s)!

Don't think he reffed the Carney incident. Wasn't it the paratrooper Smith who then went pt?

The problem with Child's is he only picks up minor things which don't deserve a penalty (a warning would do). He misses the big incidents. Walmsley's CONTINUOUS use of the elbow.
