Can some one also tell me. WHY was LANNON not taken of for a HIA test when he got hit by Wammsley. For me he should of be taken off instead of being kept on. It might of affected Childs decision, not to give us a penalty at least. Also if he had been taken straight off , he would not off been sent off.

Well as we all expected no punishment leaving him free to play in the semi. I also see Tomkins got off with the same. Lannon was stupid but a 3 to 5 game ban😵 So we have two players injured due to reckless challenges both offenders not punished. Can anyone now not say the RFL is not bent.

By looking at various images via Google, Walmsley seems to have adopted a technique of holding the ball the ball near to the centre of his chest. (older images see him with the ball more under his arm) I can see that his new technique protects the ball from being dislodged, but it also places his elbow in a leading & dangerous position, as we saw twice last week. The new Walmsley way of holding the ball cannot be allowed as it appears dangerous to me, but I'm hoping that those on this forum who have played the game at a high level, will comment. Jimmy

Jimmy I don't think there is anything wrong with a player holding the ball like that. I do have a problem with it when the elbow is raised for impact. It's easy enough to keep it down and hit with the shoulder. As soon as the elbow is raised it should be penalised whether it's intentional or not as it becomes dangerous. I've noticed a lot of fans sticking up for Walmsley by saying that it was a hand-off, or raised forearm rather than an elbow. A hand-off is a hand-off. A forearm is pretty dangerous and clearly not a hand-off so I'm not sure where they are coming from with that argument.
