Just watching the Wigan match. Can anybody tell me when the rule came in that Wigan only have to go back 5 yards when defending?
Just listening to the video ref; apparently when the 3rd tackler goes in he has to tackle above the hips......except for Wigan though esp Powell?
Wigan continually cheating and niggling...come on Hull.

Mcillorum charges into Watts, Watts defends himself...Watts sent off. Wigan appealing all decisions, the ref of course falls for it....awful
Sutton in as 3rd tackler, a Powell tackle, gets away with it!

Just sat here saying exactly the same. Nothing changes where this lot are concerned and nothing will, as long as we have the 'Wigan & Leeds' biasness at the rfl.

It was amazing that SKY were admitting that he got sent off because it was a televised game, you watched that in full speed and it's nothing but everyone laughs at MM because he's a **** and got hurt trying to put a big hit in, watch it in slowmo and it looks like Watts goes in with the elbow.
FWIW I think it was a fair hit from both players, you play RL you get injured end of.

Yes agree, Mcillorum was all night trying to impose his presence, but whilst he's aggressive he's not big enough. He had a 'do' with Kelly and another player earlier in the match.
Watts was just defending himself from a player recklessly coming in too fast. Macillorum got what he deserved, Watts didn't.
Video reffing in RL needs to have some training off RU video reffing, sadly.
At the end of the Leigh v Hull kr match a Hull player had a loose carry near his line, lost the ball but got a penalty,, all the commentators saw it, video ref nothing. Then from the penalty Hull didn't play the ball correctly and scored a try. All the commentators saw it video ref said nothing. As a result Leigh lost and face the £1M match. Pathetic. Sheens said 'they had a little luck'!

The "Bias" in the Refereeing and Disciplinary Panel is making me lose interest in the game. How can the likes of Brough and Powell launch themselves from three yards at the knees and get away with no case to answer and a one match ban respectively. I thought the milestone was 7 matches or as Balou wanted "out as long as the player was injured". I think Mason Caton Brown and Lama would agree with that. I lose count of the number of times I'm watching Sky thinking If Salford players lay on in a tackle or wrestle after the tackle is complete like that we'd be penalised. I used to give the referees the benefit of the doubt but it's becoming so obvious that the RFL want certain teams to prosper. it's also about time the RFL started stamping down on certain players bending the referees ear over virtually every decision. I can name a few and I wonder which teams two of them play for? Maguire, O'loughlin, Brough All the smaller teams want is a level playing field. Rant Over

May be a rant mate but one we'd all agree with. Well said.
What the RL don't realise is how it really does affect the game.
Just look at that idiot Mcillorum last week. Running round trying to tackle and Watts turns puts his hand up to stop him and gets sent off. Wigan win, no punishment or apology to Watts.

Rant Over I don't think there is bias in the way that most people assume. I do however, think that certain individuals in the game hold too much sway over others, sometimes in crucial positions, which can effect peoples thinking and decision making. There is still a hefty element of an old boys club around certain areas of the senior positions in RL and with that comes questionable professional ethics. Uncle Gary is a prime example of someone who likes to control the puppet strings and always has done. While this still exists in our game, all decisions are questionable.

Quote by the esteemed McDermott. Wigan losing 12 - 0, down to 12 men, with 55 minutes left and needing 90+ points to get into the semi
"It's highly unlikely that Wigan can do it now"
Think we have an Apprentice Eddy Wareing.

They all sounded gutted for them. Love it! Especially Whingeing Wanes face when they finished the season with a pasting..

Eddie Waring understood irony. McDermott couldn't even spell it.

Reports are Wane is getting his staff in working and won't watch the final. Really!
Apparently he's really hurt, tripped over his bottom lip, fell on toys which he'd thrown out of his pram and smashed his inflated ego.
What a great sportsman he is.
