Just a thought.
Salford Reds and Swinton Lions don't own their own ground. Salford FC have a small ground.
When Sale eventually buy the AJ Bell why not build a purpose built stadium with proper training, Foundation, Under 19 and commercial premises to support it.
Surely MK, the big 4 at Salford FC, the enthusiasts at Swinton and commercial organisations with the support of the City and maybe the University, should be able to sort this out.
When Sale buy the AJ any conflict with the Council and Peel will be finished.
Any thoughts?

The council would put the kibosh on anything that meant they lost a key tenant from the stadium, if we tried it if/when Sale bought the ground then they might have a different outlook I guess.
Would much rather Salford look at going into a joint venture with Sale for the purchase of the stadium, each club retains the revenue for there own games and all other income is split equally between the organisations. I personally wouldn't be averse to seeing what the deal was for the owner of Sale to buy the club, bet you he would have a less blinkered long term strategy than the current owner.

I know this is going over old territory but I have to say that this needs addressing. You can go on as much as you want about who owns the ground , but to get support into the place you need to address the poor public transport, one and a quarter hours to get from the ground to the Claremont road area of Salford. Pathetic.

Think yesterday there was an obvious outcry for public transport to be laid on at the stadium.
The bus stop with shelter was closed due to the roadworks so those who were waiting nearly drowned in the heavy downpour.
The actual roadworks are making the A57 between Eccles & Irlam and Irlam & M60 a car park, said it before just plain stupidity not to complete the link road when the stadium was being built and keep it blocked off until the bridge was open. The good news is that we're reliably informed that when the bridge is open our troubles are all over HONEST!
A 13:30 KO meant that everyone was coming out at the busiest time of the day in and around the TC, poor planning by whoever made the decision.
On the stadium itself think if Salford and Sale put we're both leaving pressure on Peel/Salford council they would cack it and come up with some sort of solution, losing both main tenants at once would be fatal for the site.
One thing I did notice when looking at the new bridge the other day in anti clockwise standing traffic is that it is single carriageway, yet the run up road from the TC is dual carriageway which surely means it is going to create a bottleneck?

The bridge certainly should help, as long as the traffic is managed properly out of the ground.
I still don't understand why they don't use the car park to the right of the road as you go in for fans rather than media/players etc. If they did they could immediately start clearing that after the game in the 15 minutes the carparks are normally closed (there are already cones down the centre of the road just tell fans to walk on the right of them, if they walk on the left and get run over that's their ass). When the main carparks open then a good chunk has already left.
Also (again) don't play on Friday night unless the sky overlords decree, personally i prefer Friday but i can understand why it puts families off so would rather give that up for more through the gate.

We park in the nearest car park to the stadium. Normally they are hopeless in releasing the cars until every single strolling spectator has come from the furthest extremity of the ground. On Saturday,we had an enlightened steward that actually managed the situation properly, simply by using common sense. We were out quickly and certainly before the stragglers. I know it was a small crowd but well done that man !
