Had a couple of interesting conversations over the last few weeks about the new road and bridge.
First was talking to a lady who's partner works on the bridge and there are some very odd options being considered, one is to pedestrianise the swing bridge and make it that the only access is via the new bridge or Centenary bridge (can't for the life of me see this one happening) the other is to make the swing bridge one way traffic and turn Lovers lane into a direct link to Chill FactorE and the new road to the bridge, none would really help us get to and from games from Salford but interesting to think about.
Second the staff at the Barley Farm have been told that the link road is to be finished off in the next few weeks behind the stadium so that the current stretch between Brookhouse and the aerodrome becomes more local access only. The plan is for the bridge and road to be operating in November, have said it many times but pretty much certain the new set up will have very little impact on Salford fans getting too and from games, maybe make the issue of getting of the car park less but only if you want to drive the long way back via the new bridge.
