Awful refereeing decisions again. No chance tonight against this. How Cas got a penalty against a tackle that was round the shoulder is unbelievable. Inevitably, try follows.

Jesus, we're struggling. If only we had an international beast to come back on and hit people

Sorry, but ref is awful. We can't compete with Cas as it is, never mind with the ref on their side.

Why do we bother. Try on the field. Clear try. No try. WTF.

And then Cas score. Give up boys. Not worth the effort.

I'm not one to bag refs but that tonight was ridiculous. We didn't help ourselves and probably still would have lost but Jesus that was poor.
Hope no bans ensue for our late hits, particularly bmm
That said, not a terrible performance.

Yep. Cas were the better side. By a long way. But we can't compete when we are being given no chance. Evalds try was spot on. Disallowed. Reminds me of the challenge cup tie last year at Cas when they were awarded a try by the video ref when the ball clearly never touched the ground. Game changer, just like tonight. Don't know how the boys carry on to be honest.

Couple of things from tonight for me...
Evalds is not a winger. He was pretty awful when it mattered. Cas are a better side than us. We need to stop giving stupid penalties away late in sets. We could have played brilliantly tonight and lost as the reffing was absolutely unbelievable. I'm not one for bagging refs as it's a hard job and they deserve better than they get. Tonight though, the officiating was so bad and only one way that you've got to question what Salford had to do to get the rub of the green? It simply wasn't possible for us to win that no matter what happened, and it's been a long time since I've said that.

Best team won tonight, obviously. Murray looks a player. My rant of the day is about Todd Carney. Take away his reputation and judge him on performances. Impressed at Wire but that's been it. His only real impact has possibly been Lui's performances,as though the mere presence of Carney made him up his game, but that might've happened anyway. With his experience,he should be able to impose himself more.

Shenton Gale and the crowd seemed to referee the match. Like this ref but no offsides given and some very poor tackle and head high decisions.. Cas were miles off esp on the last tackle.
I thought it was a fair performance and good to see Murray Carney and Lannon getting good time. But sadly Evalds, i don't know how many tries in the past few matches on his wing, hasn't a clue about defending as a winger or centre. His only position full back.

I've not seen any of tonight's game yet but it sounds like the ref had a stinker. Think I might give this one a miss. Also heard that there was some crowd trouble afterwards. Can anyone confirm?
Onwards and upwards. Keep the faith!

Worth a look, we weren't too bad except for the right wing. We seem to be on the end of lots of professional referee twisting from the likes of Leeds and Cas at home.
We really do need a winger and defensive centre. Evalds completely lost; think 4 or 5 tries down that side. But lots of positives, Lannon, Murray, and Lui, Dobson, Carney playing well together but they need time.
