Apparently there is a signing announcement this morning, if it is in the morning can only see it being Manu Vatuvei and having him make some sort of announcement over in NZ to the Warriors fans at the same time.
Would prefer it to be MCB coming back home though.

It is Vatuvei. The Warriors have confirmed it overnight. They have an interview with him on their site about it.

From now til end 2018. At least he knows rhe position. Don't write him off yet. Evalds not a winger.

While I'm a little uncertain about the signing (Not his ability, just his injury problems) he's now a Salford player and I'll support him. If he can stay injury free then we'll have an exciting signing. it's definitely a gamble. On the plus side he's a decent human being and can see him fitting in well with the guys we have. Sau and Vatuvei on one side, both of which have played together before, is not what I would want to see lining up against me if I was a wing or opposition centre. He may also be a lift to a team that's in need of one. He's famous for his first hit-ups and kick returns. He'll be very much in the same category as Carney was, and boy, have we missed him...

I too am a little uncertain on this one Carnster, however on yesterdays performance we do need someone on that side. If he stays fit then he will be a great signing. Evalds best position is FB and he should be put back in that position. I know people on the forum think GOB is GOD but on his showing yesterday (although not the only one) do you honestly think he should be our first choice FB. So Vatuvei to Salford, never thought I would say that.

One things for sure, whether the right signing or not, you definitely cannot knock the doc for bringing quality players to Salford.

I can hear people moaning already about what I'm going to say but if needed I'd shove him into the backrow.
One things for sure Johnson and Elephant (can't recall his proper name) as wingers have one of the best there's ever been to learn their trade from and then there is the returning legend who is MCB to add into that mix.

I'd echo this. It will also give Watto the option of playing Evalds at fullback. I just find it strange that we released Justin Carney weeks ago without a direct replacement lined up sooner.

My feelings on this are that it's a high risk strategy. Manu has had major injuries and hardly played over the last couple of years so we don't want another Daniel Vidot. If it does come off and we can keep him on the field it will be great for Payers and fans alike. He's now a Salford player and will get cheered every time he's on the field. Lets hope it's lots.

This is obviously the smart move: identify a weakness on the wing, sign an international winger and then play him in the second row. However, genius move though this is, I think coaches of other clubs will almost be expecting it, so I think Ian Watson will do a double bluff and play the international winger on the wing. On the positive side, this will mean Niall could move to his strongest position - full back - and then we could perhaps move Gareth into the second row, where I'd like to see him partnering Ryan Brierley.
