Any updates from today?
Just hoping that the Doc doesn't open his mouth and say something he shouldn't.

Think it started at three pm. Not heard anything.

Can't see any out for this other than huge chunks of humble pie and dollops of sorry from the Doc.

I guess it's not an 'open and shut case' after five hours and counting!

Could have been worse. Think the club may appeal...

Have to be careful with appeals and the RFL, unless we feel we have a very strong case. Look at the suspensions last year, no consistency.

Agree, still leaves us with a slim chance of making the top 8. Was hoping for 4 but fearing 10 plus. Hope we move on now and draw a line under it

Not as bad as I'd feared, unless the Doc has an ace up his sleeve I'd take that on the chin and use it as a catalyst for the rest of the season.
I would though if I was the Doc actively look for evidence other teams have broken the cap, why should we get pinged with the biggest fine when it is apparent to all that other teams have been doing the self same thing for years. I still shake my head in disbelief every time I see the Catalans squad, they must get one hell of a good exchange rate is all I can say.

It's a joke how the current group of players are being punished for something that happened in 2014. Why wasn't this sorted out last season?
Surely now every club in Super League has to be investigated just like Salford have on this occasion. Why should it take an owner from the Championship to raise these concerns, shouldn't the RFL already have dealt with this in 2014?
The RFL's 'Independant' tribunal is evidently not fit for purpose, let's hope that Catalan and Warrington get hit with similar bans before the end of this season because there's no way they are under the cap!

Of course everyone's doing it, but nobody else is daft enough not to pay one of the players they are doing it with. Or to say they will do it. Just hope lesson has been learned, as it seems to have been.

It's a joke how the current group of players are being punished for something that happened in 2014. I think it's pretty well established in all sports that it's the club, irrespective of ownership changes or different playing squads, that committed the offence and faces the music. Mind you ,looking at the Catalans squad, their management must manage their cap very efficiently .

Woken up and after sleeping on it worry that the Doc will take this badly and in all probability make matters worse.
I'd rather have no appeal, just take it on the chin and spend the rest of the season building bridges with the powers that be, think it has finally been proven that continually goading them and half drunken anti social media rants are counter productive.
Also feel that this might mean other teams who obviously break the cap might start papping themselves, the RFL have set the benchmark now so if anyone else is caught they can fully expect the same punitive treatment. Pretty certain not that by the start of next season we will be using the marquee signing option as a legal method to get over the current cap without another kicking.

6 points is a kick in the teeth and probably rules us out of top 8 unless we can use this as a spur to go on a big run. Looks like this squad might well stick around so with a decent cup run and a couple of astute signings we can hopefully build on some encouraging signs to make a big push for the top 8 next season (assuming we don't bomb in the middle 8's this year!).
The panel have obviously decided this is the perfect opportunity to administer payback for the Doc's social media rants so will be interesting to see whether he can/will wind his neck in after this!
