JH agree with the sentiments mate and the good thing is the nucleus of the team is signed up next year. Just some points We have even very lucky with injuries this year cf Warrington, Widnes Wigan etc and last year Leeds were wrecked We need competition for places IW We have just about the smallest squad in SL
I really think we're v short in the backs even Bibby sees himself as a 2nd row, if a couple get injured where do we go? Koppy Tasi are immense, if they get injured now? Esp with Walne and Mossop out Last year Lui was on one leg with no cover and we struggled
I would like to see us develop an A Team next year so we could develop more younger players and have a bigger squad for the 1st team.. we still have a dozen games to go and the squad is tired.
But you're right about the prospects for the future. With you mate.

I agree Redjack, an A team is very desirable and I hope that an A team league is established by the Superleague team and tha the games are played at our ' Community' ground within the City of Salford, wherever that may be and that we could establish a true base there when the AJ Bell deal finishes. We can but dream,..... but maybe that is why we love Salford, it allows us to dream. Don't you just love Salford? I know you do, no need to answer. Jimmy

Thoroughly good posts on where we are, where we need to be, and current expectations.
The squad is still light on a couple of numbers and it's testament to the off-field physios that they have kept such a small squad fit and active so far. Whatever they are doing it's going great. However, like others have said, we've been very lucky with injuries this season so far and can't help feeling that we may suffer from burnout at the wrong time. Such a small squad that has had to play continually will feel the accumulated niggles and general late season fatigue earlier than other sides. IW's eye for utility in players was an obvious counter to the smaller squad problem, and I think he'll need to keep that way of thinking when bringing in anymore signings.
Key injuries to certain positions over the next few weeks could spell a late season decline for us. The CC also adds in extra games and an extra focus which will also be adding stress to the squad.
Saying all this though, what we've achieved so far shouldn't be overlooked. Certainly the best season supporting Salford in my lifetime.
