Absolute sickener! God knows what went through Rob Lui's head! To be fair to him he had a great game but just kick the ball dead man!!
We will bounce back though, chin up boys.
PS - imagine how bad Hull KR must have felt?? 🤢

See why Dobson so important to control the game. Carney should have been given that responsibility. Sadly he always seems to have to play second fiddle.
So Leeds away robbed, Wakey and Saints away, threw the games BUT lots of great wins so look forward to Huddersfield.

Perhaps he's just not got in the team groove yet but as an Oz international back he's capable of doing it. I'd have thought he would have been the go to man all the time, his kicking game is brilliant.

Tough one to take, expected to lose tonight thought our eye may be off the ball with the cup etc, but to lose like that is hard.
3 league defeats on the bounce, good time to have a blip though. Said after the cup game win 3 out of the next 5 and we're ok, makes hudds next week very important
Opportunity lost with wakey and Leeds losing but we're still in the driving seat

Wow. That was sickening. And after more than twenty years following Salford, you'd have thought I'd be used to it, but no. That one really hurts. Worst of all, as my girlfriend is a wheelchair user, and there's no wheelchair spaces in the away end, I was lumped in with lots of Saints fans. Bad place to be when it went mental at the end. Smith celebrated right in front of me.
What to say? Lui was awesome until he had a brain fart on 80. Saints played like men possessed in the last ten. Where has that been all year? Regan Grace showed Jason Robinson esque footwork to make Johnson look stupid.
In general, we gave far too many penalties away for lying on. That's what got them on that late roll. Others have said game management, but we didn't see the ball, last minute aside, once they got going. I guess it happens sometimes. It happened to Hull KR. Saints have the players to win the league but their heads haven't been there this year. They showed what they're capable of in that last ten.
Girlfriend is starting to get what supporting Salford is all about. So far she's seen the home Wigan game, Wakefield away, and now this. She's starting to worry it's her fault when we lose!
I hope we can bounce back well, but this one will hurt for a bit.

HIGHLIGHTS
I still can't get my head around what Lui was thinking. Defeat from the jaws of victory this one!

HIGHLIGHTS
I still can't get my head around what Lui was thinking. Just watched the highlights. Obvious what he was trying as Evalds was running through to collect the kick. Lui was trying to win us the match but it was poor execution, and the wrong option. Only switched on to Ray French with about 20 to go. He said straight off that he couldn't remember Saints being so dominated at home, and then his script changed to say we were out on our feet !

I think we missed Dobson. As good as Lui is, Dobson would have put that game to bed.

Agree but I think Carney should be more given licence to lead and organise as Dobson does. You're right it missed a general but as time goes by I think Carney will slot in when Dobson not there, but it'll take another half dozen games to fit in properly.
Don't think Lui's a general.
