I know the last 2 games have been disapointing but if offered super league safety at the start of the season wewould have all taken it surely. Especially given that as expected Castleford beat Warrington today then we are guaranteed to be in Super League next year. Has to be considered a success.

Now there Dentonred to some people on here being positive is not the in thing. Most fans that I know would have given a lot to be guaranteed being in Superleague in 2018 before the season started and with a decent cup we have improved considerably over last season playing rugby that we could only have dreamed about over several seasons

It's pretty great being a Salford fan isn't it?

Wouldn't mind us trying out some of the younger lads, ala Wakefield last season, in the Super 8's. Experience could be vital in long run.

It's pretty great being a Salford fan isn't it? Its better than being Wigan,Warrington or Widnes fans at this time One smiley for each. And the Catalans fans aren't too happy either.

Couldn't have said it better myself Denton Red, if you'd have told me at the start of the season we would have a home Challenge Cup quarter-final tie against Wakefield to look forward to and guaranteed safety with 5 games of the regular season to go I'd have probably said "I'll have what your drinking mate". Despite the two losses recently nobody can tell me this hasn't been an amazing season for the club. Keep up the good work lads and let's do the business on Thursday night!

At the start of the season I has my reservations. What with Tim Sheens leaving, appointing Willie Poching from KR (given the stick he took from their fans) and then the 1st half Wigan performance. But I couldn't have gotten it more wrong. All the recruitment this season has been spot on and the players already here have kicked on more than could have expected. Have seen the Kenny-Dowell rumours but would be happy to look domestically for recruits from now on.

Yes anything from now on is a bonus really. Hopefully we all start to realise this (owner included) and we can enjoy the rest of the season, at least on the pitch.

Spot on dentonred. After Wire losing again today... we are safe from relegation! I remember someone on this website said earlier in the season that they would be happy if we had 'dead rubber' games to look forward to before the season ends, and that's now our worse case scenario. Still in with a shout in 2 competitions and the best team we've had for a long time; certainly the best in my lifetime anyway.

A big thank you to Ian Watson and team. All the players. Ignore all the doom merchants and moaners. I defy anyone to say they would not have taken this position at the start of the season. We have watched great rugby and lots of players signing up for the future. Let us ALL enjoys this moment

I said anything above 24 points is a bonus ages ago.Just hope we have the same this time next year.No disregard to anyone I don't we have squad to do it.Warrington and a few more will be stronger if we are just spending the bare minimum it will be hard that's what worries me.

Most clubs will only have proportion of their squads fully in place at this current time and we are no different,we will I presume be sorting out contracts with some more of the current staff and looking at recruiting others to cover certain positions and also to increase the squad. It won't matter how strong Warrington are next year if they are in the championship, which some of their supporters are fearing may well happen.
