As far as purple patches go, I'm happier for them to get it out of the way at this time. Hard work so far done with a few regular games left. Intensity will ramp-up for the 8's so to have a bad run now is the perfect time really. It's been an immense season for us this year regardless of what happens next. We need to keep reminding ourselves where we were heading this time last year, and our general fortunes for nearly forty years. I said I would be over the moon with 24 points and secure in the eight in that respect it has been a good season. But next year we have to do it all over again and with this squad it might be asking to much how much money would have to be put in for us to have the same points at this time next year people will be saying negative again I will say realism I hope to be proved wrong.

I have said that being positive is a good thing elsewhere salfordlad but I don't agree that this is an overreaction, the contrast in form, effectiveness and fluidity is stark and alarming. Where we are in the table is irrelevant and I don't subscribe to the view that it us MK's fault and something like "Who killed Kennedy?" is at the root of it. I think some of the the explanations on here seem reasonable and logical, and I did say I hope I'm wrong. However, the performance seemed to me to be so poor that tiredness, personnel on the paddock and whatever else seem to lack a bit. 1 bad game doesn't shape a season. To say "It's Gone" after the season we've had so far just ridiculous and a complete overreaction, were you saying Hull FC had "Gone" after we won 54-18 and their place? No you probably wern't. A win against Wakefield on Thursday and I couldn't honest care less about the last two games. Irrespective of it being more than one bad game the signs were/are worrying and a win against Wakey doesn't look so possible now either, again I hope this is wrong but the manner of SRD's play was more than abysmal and had the look of the side suffering from a twelve point deficit. This was never an attempt to decry what SRD have done so far nor to see everything in the darkest way possible. We should be able to discuss anything in the way we view it.

I don't know what to make of SRD at the moment. Last year, we were flying (almost) when the 12 point deduction came in and our form crashed. This year we were flying when the name change nonsense came in and our form is wobbling. After each of the last two games, I have been desperately disappointed, but surely that shows how far we have come - disappointed to lose against Hull! This season is not over by any means, but we do need a big game on Thursday. Please let us get to Wembley so I can see the Red Devils on the famous turf. If we win on Thursday, I'll be delighted and the last two games will be forgotten.

Russ we've had one bad game, we dominated field territory against Wakefield in the first half and they scored off a couple of lucky breaks and their 16-0 was completely unjustified. I thought how we managed to somehow get back in the lead after being behind by some margin was a tremendous effort. Don't also forget we were in front with just 5 minutes on the clock against a side who has won their last 5 games in all competitions. Did you say Leeds were "Gone" after they lost at Widnes recently, doubt it. Please mate just can you try to be more positive, here's one for you we are now guaranteed a top 8 finish, that should put a smile on your face. No problem with the way you're viewing things, everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but overall I must see the current situation at Salford Red Devils a whole lot differently then you do. Best head coach, best team, best CEO, best season, best defence, best results....I certainly wouldn't be saying we have "Gone".

Thanks mate emotions sometimes run high after a loss use social media/forums as a way to vent there frustration. Sometimes you've just got to take a step back and think of the bigger picture. Imagine how good would a Challenge Cup semi-final be? Being a younger member of our fan base I can't even remember Headingley in 1998 (sorry for reminding some), it would be by far the most exciting day supporting Salford for me and the buzz leading up to the game would just be insane! That's why we need to come out loud and proud in numbers on Thursday, those players deserve the support of the whole City of Salford not just the 2,000 die hards that come every week.

Unfortunately I think we have been found out, we looked clueless in attack and everything we'd been doing well thus far this season seems to have been rumbled (i.e stopping BMM and the moves near the try line with GOB)I am worried sick about Thursday if we lose that game then our biggest chance of Wembley in nearly 20 years is gone and so is all of the hard work done on the pitch this season, don't expect anyone but the loyal 1500 to return if we lose it.
Feeling sicker than the build up to the MPG to be honest.

We'll see Todd starting and different attacking plays to take teams that have sussed out our structures by surprise. 🤞

"Feeling sicker than the build up to the MPG to be honest." Really? All I could think when I heard that we are assured of top 8 was thank God no MPG this year!

Think TC has to start and plays run off him, he seemed to link well with Evalds so I'd get them working on something, get BMM taking 2nd hit up, chip back over the top from GOD rather than him hitting the line (as his 2nd man link move now has been sussed by all and sundry) but above all else look where MCB is and kick to the billions acres of land he isn't.
Oh and in the first few minutes put the squeeze on, the last 2 games we have been on the back foot way to early so I'd start with Koppy and Tasi then bring on Griff and Murray (Fafita is rumoured to be out so that is a huge bonus).

I felt like this a few weeks back, I remember the home games against Leigh an Widnes I thought we won without looking too hot, and the cup wins. But then we hit it hot again against cats and wire. I think if we're on it anyone will struggle to stop us, but we need a plan b for when that doesn't work

I think it wouldn't be very strange for us to lose 3 home games in a row after the season we are having, even if we've been beaten by Wakefield twice this season already. We've had an extra days rest on a short turnaround which may prove to be vital, let's hope it's third time lucky against Wakey this season.

I'm hoping that those two defeats are motivation enough for the players. They wont want a third I'm sure. MCB is still a worry though. Broken play will almost certainly result in a try due to his pace if he's involved. Fifita, if he misses it, will be a big plus for us.

If the team can't motivate themselves enough for a semi-final spot against the only team that has beaten them twice this year. Then I will agree with your conclusions. Fingers crossed.
