The world hasn't caved in we have lost two games you are right. But in them two games we were clueless that's a fact and if we had been called Manchester we would have still been clueless.

Sorry I disagree, we weren't clueless Dixon. In the Wakey match we sadly gave them a 16 pt lead and nearly won. Yesterday they were tired 5 games in 18 days and still had a good go in the second half; their score included us dropping a couple of balls and them going the length of the field as in the Wakey match. And a couple of tries off dubious passes.
We only have a small squad and 6 injured, and possibly Watson should have played Connor, Murray, Carney and Lenagan from the start yesterday. We've only had this team for one and a half seasons. And we haven't leaked 40 points this year, Wigan leaked 50 on Thursday.
If you like to win you have to be prepared to lose mate. Keep the faith and look forward to Thursday.

I think this just goes to prove that the whole re-branding business is making our defeats seem a hell lot worse than they actually are... OK, so we've had 2 poor performances against an in form wakey and hull, who on their day for me are as good as anyone. Other than this we've been excellent and far exceeded where we all thought we'd be at this stage. What is obvious over the last couple of weeks for me is that some of our lads need a rest. For me lui in particular. Don't agree with some that confidence is an issue. How can it be?? We're still very much up there and in the quarter final of the CC. I sincerely hope that all the off field stuff doesn't affect what's going on the pitch, as that would be a sickener considering what we've done so far. I'm sure the players are professional enough to just get on with the job and let the powers that be hopefully see sense and leave our club name alone.. Anyway, let's just get behind the lads, do our bit and keep turning up.

I recorded yesterday's match as I normally like to watch it back on Sky when I get home. I couldn't face it last night as I was a bit deflated but I'm pretty sure we bombed at least 2 or 3 tries by trying to cut back on ourselves when 2 or 3 times the player in possession could have just dived early and slid over the line (Dobbo, Lannon & Bibby IIRC). Hull's goal line defence was excellent but there is nothing you can do to stop a player when he slides along the ground from a couple of yards out as you ain't gonna hold him up or get him in touch (as was the case with Bibby 2nd half).

While I agree that fatigue was a factor for me you can see the players look less motivated than a few weeks ago and I remain convinced that something in the background is the root cause of this, the comments aimed at the loyal fans by the club surely can't help the situation.
Certain players need to be rested on Thursday, Lui looks like he is wading through treacle, Koppy looked shattered after his first hit up, BMM is running out of steam, unfortunately they are 3 of our biggest players and can't all be rested.
Give Lui the week off with Carney starting at #6, start with BMM on the bench with Griffin starting out wide and unfortunately just keep Koppy playing off the bench as he is much to important not to be playing in KO rugby. Hope Johnson is fit as last night proved that without him we were pretty pedestrian pace wise and FFS keep Welham away from the touchline.

To me I think we're missing two parts of what's made us good this yer. Firstly it's the go forward in the first two or three tackles with players such as Johnson, Carney and Josh Jones. Secondly it's the tightness in the defence with Flash and Logan Tomkins Missing. I think Logan is a double miss because when he starts it allows us to bring Kris Brining on when defences are a bit more tired. I think if we throw in Lee Mossop being out for the season who was playing really well it explains some of our shortcomings last night. We've not got a big squad so hopefully we'll have a few back for the cup game. Agree with this. Especially regarding Johnson and Carney. These two players are the main reason we have been getting on the front foot early in the tackle count either making quick yardage or gaining us penalties. We have lacked that since Johnson got injured and struggled to make inroads especially in our own half. Hopefully he will be back on Thursday.

“We started off lacking energy and were a bit soft physically – Hull just got on a roll and taught us a lesson on how to play really direct and quick,” he said. "We were very flat and we didn’t start with the attitude we normally do. We didn’t play with any kind of enthusiasm and energy." This from Watto is accurate and worrying at the same time.
"Jesus two defeats and suddenly the world has ended get a grip it seems the more successful better we play the worse this forum gets!"
Again, not the defeats, they're Salford fan's bread and butter it's the alarming things in the two performances that make me feel this way.

Talk about an overreaction we are 2nd in the league and still in the cup, stop concentrating on the negatives.

It's far from gone, it's been a long season playing a high standard of rugby and it was going to tell sooner or later on the small squad especially when IW hasn't chosen to rest players unless injured.
After the Warrington game Lui should've been rest and so should maybe CK last night and Murray brought in.
They'll get a second wind and I think they'll put a good display on and beat Wakey convincingly on Thursday.

How good would it be if some of our fans were as possitive after 7 wins on the trop as they are negative after 2 losses in a row?
Focus on the positives and you'll live an all round better life. Some Salford fans need CBT judging by the last week. Christ we went to Warrington and played them off the park less than 2 weeks ago, some Sports fans at time are so fickle it's unbelievable.
A win on Thursday and the last week will be a distant memory and all focus will be on the Challange Cup semi-final and being 80 minutes away from Wembley.
Wakefield are without 3-4 of their best players, including Miller and Johnstone. Whilst we're welcoming back Flanagan and Johnson and have the luxury at playing at home in a 1/4 for the first time since the early

Talk about an overreaction we are 2nd in the league and still in the cup, stop concentrating on the negatives. I have said that being positive is a good thing elsewhere salfordlad but I don't agree that this is an overreaction, the contrast in form, effectiveness and fluidity is stark and alarming. Where we are in the table is irrelevant and I don't subscribe to the view that it us MK's fault and something like "Who killed Kennedy?" is at the root of it. I think some of the the explanations on here seem reasonable and logical, and I did say I hope I'm wrong. However, the performance seemed to me to be so poor that tiredness, personnel on the paddock and whatever else seem to lack a bit.

To say "It's Gone" after the season we've had so far just ridiculous and a complete overreaction, were you saying Hull FC had "Gone" after we won 54-18 and their place? No you probably wern't. A win against Wakefield on Thursday and I couldn't honest care less about the last two games.

As far as purple patches go, I'm happier for them to get it out of the way at this time. Hard work so far done with a few regular games left. Intensity will ramp-up for the 8's so to have a bad run now is the perfect time really.
It's been an immense season for us this year regardless of what happens next. We need to keep reminding ourselves where we were heading this time last year, and our general fortunes for nearly forty years.
