Just mentioned on the rumours thread that Andre Savelio appears to be surplus to requirements at Wire. 22 years old, 17 1/2 stone, athletic... is he worth a punt? Now I'll admit I've not watched many Wire matches this year but I really rated him at Saints and maybe his form has suffered as a result of Wire's demise this season. What's the deal with Hasson? Is he just here until the end of the season? Weller will be 33 next season and maybe worth offering Savelio a 12 month deal to groom him as his replacement?

I would love to see this happen. My dad and I have discussed on a few occasions that this is the kind of player that we should be chasing in the future and how we should have been in for him when he left Saints(Although I believe Warrington are his team and were his first choice). Personally i think he needs to decide whether hes a front or back rower but either way I think he could be a great signing and Long term replacement for BMM or Lama.

I'd question why Saints released him and then Warrington 12 months later? (If the above rumour about his release is true) It seems a lot of work these days goes into the background/personality checks of a player and you would have to question why two other clubs were prepared to let him go considering his potential as a player.

Quite. There were rumours around Saints that his attitude wasn't the best, so they let him go. If Salford were to go for him, he'd be a bit high risk. Although you can't judge any player's ability by how they're playing at Warrington, because the HJ is becoming a graveyard for many promising players (I mean, would you sign the 2017 models Clark and Ratchford over the 2011 models?), he wasn't exactly tearing up trees at Saints either. Best look elsewhere, I think.

The same was said about Tasi and he has come back and is arguably playing better than when he first arrived at Salford. Signing any player that has shifted around a few clubs in consecutive years is a risk, guess it depends if Watson sees him as adding to the squad, before this season I'd have said yes but with Walnes improvement, Murray showing he has an excellent future and Hason coming in I'd say he might be surplus to requirements.

Smith has fallen out with him,and it was surprising to see him playing yesterday. Im not aware of what happened at Saints, but I was led to believe that he has been a bad boy at Wire. As previously said,I would hope/ expect that we steer clear of him ps his dad was a top player for us.

The difference with Tasi was the club already knew about his character and good behaviour from his first stint. Furthermore he was only rumoured to have left because of all the problems we allegedly had with certain personalities in the dressing room. Maybe his head just wasn't in it at Saints and he wanted to rejoin his brothers after the exodus. The fact he's playing his best rugby now suggests he's thriving in an environment he likes.

Yeah talking to Saints fans in the past and Warrington fans it seems he's a bit up himself and plays his way or no way. He's immensely talented but his over inflated ego and self importance lets him down. For the team we've started to build i can't see Watson wanting that type of character in the squad. Think he was only buying his time anyway as i think he's still got intrest from Australia.

So it's a "Yes" then guys?😉😂
Haha.... really wasn't aware of the attitude problems but makes sense if both Saints and Wire happy to move him on. Big shame, as he's a talented lad and if he sorts himself out I think he could be a top player. Hopefully, for his sake, it's just age and immaturity and he'll settle down but agree 100% that we don't need the aggro if his attitude is wrong.
