I thought it would be worth having a look at all the positives and negatives from this season, this will give us an indication as to how things are going in 2017. Lately there's been a little bit of negativity around the club and anger from some of the fans which is annoying considering all the good things that are happening at Salford Red Devils right now.
As fans of this club we need to be concentrating on everything that's going right!!
Positives
- Best season in Super League so far since the competition began in the 1990's.
- Best CEO we've ever had in the modern era.
- Best Head Coach we've ever had in Super League.
- Best group of players we have ever had in Super League.
- Richest owner we have ever had in the clubs modern history.
- Attendances are up on last year and by the end of the season will probably be our highest since moving to the AJ Bell.
- First away wins at Wigan and Hull FC since moving to their new stadiums.
- First Challenge Cup quarter final in 5/6 years, first at home since the early 2000's (When we were in the Championship).
- 100+ point difference after 14 games.
- 3rd best defence in Super League (An area where we have previously struggled). - Continuity, new contracts for the vast majority of our best players with more to come shortly. - 5000 home fans at our game against Leigh, last time we achieved that was Wakefield at home for the start of the 'Red Devilution' - Best atmosphere at home and away game in a long time (easily the best chants in Rugby League).
Negatives
-Rumor of a name change. -Justin Carney banned for 8 matches.
Please feel free to add some positives and negatives of your own.

1st time over 1000 fans bought tickets thro the club for a Newcastle type event I understand 2000 season tickets sold 1st time we've had an Oz international on the bench for most of the season! Most stable squad we've had in SL, with players wanting to stay and competition for every position

I've been trying to think of some negatives since last night, and I can't think of any more than what you have already mentioned salfordlad1!

Slight amendment to negatives: Justin Carney banned for 8 + 2 games.
Addition to Positives: exciting play from Salford on the field

Positives:
First Salford team in my lifetime that I genuinely feel can win every match we go into.
I don't get the "same old Salford feeling" even when we have a bad patch in a match, barring extenuating circumstances at Catalans, we always look like we can get back into any game.
We're winning games even when we seem to be playing in 2nd/3rd gear.
Negatives:
Off field negativity by fans.
Even though we're winning, it feels like we're coasting at times. I'd like to see us put a couple of big scores on some teams. (This is really nitpicky & testament to how much we've improved that I can even list it under negatives!)

Positives speak for themselves
Negatives; Despite being 2nd in the league we're in papers for off the field stuff again Having to come from behind against Hull KR and Leigh. Should have been much higher margins Tough few games coming up with everyone else finding form and getting bodies back.

Positives; 1. All of the above. 2. Player retention and low turn over of playing staff.
Negatives; 1. All of the above. 2. Also it's already been said, but on the field being over shadowed yet again by controversy off it, thought we'd actually manage to let the on field performances do the talking, just frustrating after finally seeing some light at the end of a very very very long dark tunnel.

Now would RHP's presence be positive or negative? Bearing in mind his last CEO post ended up in administration/ liquidation.

To summarise the above I think we can all honestly say that positives outweight the negatives by far, so let's take that positivity into this weekends games and get behind the lads and the club.

To add to the positives a magnifent gesture by the club to allow free entry to the Catalan game, in return for a donation to those effected by the Manchester attacks. #Proud
Ben Murdoch-Masila has also donated his MoM £250 from last weekend game in Newcastle to the MEN Just Giving page to also support the victims of the attack.
