I know MK isn't a fan of complimentary tickets for kids but it does make you wonder how many of our current fanbase were introduced and attracted to the club this way. What are the club doing currently to attract the next generation of supporters to the club? Does anyone remember a company sponsoring children to attend a match v Swinton at the Willows a few years ago when the North stand was full and we got an extra 3,000 people above our average? I know quite a few people left at half time but not all of them. From memory this was linked to the local schools and kids were rewarded for good behaviour or attainment and got a certificate on the night. The question is are the club working hard at this or are they just sat scratching their heads in self pity because the team have won a few more games? Maybe this comment is totally unfair and they are all working very hard but I'm not seeing any new initiatives or progress.

Some 60+years ago anyone at school in Salford who played rugby league at school was given a free ticket for each home match, each school received an allocation of tickets for each home match and they were issued accordingly by the sports teachers we had Jack Wansell who was a rugby league fanatic, all the schools had to do was collect their batch of tickets from the Willows, once Gus Risman issued ours. Now I still attend on a regular basis along with seven other family members so in the medium to long term it works giving youngsters complimentary tickets. to young children whose parents will usually bring them and as the youngsters grow up some will carry on coming and so it carries on as as my children and grandchildren are just as keen as I am all these years after I first started coming.

To get back to the original question. YES. When you add in transport costs, parking (a disgrace it costs 25% extra to park) and the crazy prices for refreshments at the stadium. I know it pales compared to football but for me we should be aiming for a different market, which market though is hard to define. I get the feeling there could be some friction between the club and the stadium management company. I think this was why MK went to the media recently about taking some games to other venues and he hasn't denied the Manchester rumour going around. If Salford did play some home fixtures away from the AJ Bell then that would surely hit the SMC hard in the pocket. Back to the admission pricing .... If you look at what broadcasters pay Superleague to the Premier League they value our sport at only 1.7% compared to football. If the vast majority of people in the Salford and Greater Manchester area value it in this way, then it's hardly surprising we are only getting gates of 3.5K when admission prices are so disproportionate to how people value SL to the Premier League. Additionally people will see a low demand for watching Salford and put an even lower value on it. I think this is why many RL clubs are rumoured to inflate their attendances a bit to make it look more appealing in the hope of attracting more people. Unfortunately MK can't see the potential benefits of doing this and has said on Twitter that he won't do it. (Although keeping the numbers low could be part of a bigger plan.)

One thing that worries me, is that Women's football seems to be gaining momentum, especially on TV they even have a magazine show. We don't even have Boots an All
