Another bit in this article that I noticed is the UKfast deal with SS being worth £700k a year! Does anyone know/think of a sponsorship deal in RL that is close to that?
Hope MK doesn't think a quick name change will suddenly pull in that sort of money.

And Todd Carney to Leigh? I'm not sure if the wires have been crossed somewhere. I think Carney to Leigh may be Justin Carney rather than Todd. May be wrong though. |

I think he'll only go on loan to get match fitness. I think he's a fantastic addition to the squad because, in the past, when first Dobson and then Lui were injured we had no cover. That's why Warrington, Saints early in the season and now Leigh are failing because half back problems.
I think if Flash goes he could be a great loose forward, but he can play both half back positions, hooker, full back and probably centre. He could come into the team to rest players or for injuries after the next couple of madness weeks.
Hopefully he's now fit and just needs some game time. What a great player to have waiting in the wings.

I wouldn't lend Leigh anyone, we need them as weak as possible so they make a swift return to the lower league.
If TC is going to Leigh it does make the mind boggle how we have had another Kevin Locke situation, world class player who has been an inspirational water carrier, hardly been seen in the press, not used to publicise the games/club and for me most importantly not mixed with fans pre game to encourage people along.

This is my take on Todd Carney.I don't for one minute think Watson wanted him.I think he was the owners pick,and it gave Watson a problem.If they are fit Dodson and Liu play I think Carney thinks he should be playing.It is better to say you are injured than people think you are not good enough. |

Seems a bit cynical Dixon. I went to the event where he was introduced to the Club. Very bright and interesting guy who realised he'd made an idiot of himself and wanted to get his life back on track. I think he has been injured, as he was when he played against Catalan. He's not a Hock or a Chase, too level headed. But give the guy a chance. If/ when he does get going he's very very special, just what we need. He can run a game just like Dobson.
Sadly at the moment we're embarrased with an excess of riches, but it won't be like that all the time. Hard slog coming up. I do admire Watson for keeping with the players who're doing the business tho. Only way to run a team.

Absolutely right Dixon and he will be. We're not half way thro the season yet. So let's just hope when he does get his chance he stays there. He had things that most players only dream of. He won us the Saints game with that wonderful touchline kick and his set up to Koppie with space for a wonderful run. He can play off the cuff which is what we need, we're a little predictable at times.
I just hope we can see a lot more of him.
And it's good Watson has the right problem. He used to be scratching round for players.

Lawrence Jones sponsor Salford the half the amount, I'm sure he used to have a sponsor on our shorts when we had that green kit. |
