He will do what he normally does...
He'll become invigorated with a change of scenery and revel being the number one choice again. He'll produce a few games of masterclass wizardry then he'll tail off as he grows bored once more. Throw in a few personality mismatches and maybe an injury and he'll be off to play somewhere else...
Mystic Carn, signing off.

I always think of Rangi in the same way as Kevin Pietersen. Obvious flaws but talent never in doubt. I know KP's issues were more with his ego and Rangi's seem more cognitive (right/politically correct word?) issues. Since his pomp as a world class test match/one day/T20 cricketer, KP has re-invented himself as one of these freelance T20 cricketers who basically just travels the world playing in the major domestic comps and earning big bucks. Not sure how much money is around in the Union 7's tour but maybe Rangi can see out the last couple of years of his (rapidly) fading career earning a few bob that way? His off-the-cuff style is perfect for the 7's game IMO.

Good luck to our old player at his new club.
'IF' he knuckles down then fair play to him if he does not then he won't see this season out never mind next.

A real talent when he's on it but with Rangi it's not a question of 'If' it's simply a question of 'when'. I can understand Widnes signing him because right now they're up $hit creek without a paddle and don't have much more to lose. Betts has been on borrowed time for weeks and I think he'd sign a three legged giraffe if he thought it could potentially help turn things around.
