Really confused by all this, are some fans for the name change and others against it or was it just a pissing contest when people had had a scoop? Don't get what the deal with the balaclavas was, just incredibly frustrating that at one of (if not the biggest) highest points in the club's recent history there seems to be a real downer being created by the club, is it intentional of the powers that be to achieve a split amongst us to say see we need to move to start afresh. There must have been more than one incident? I know nothing about balaclavas or didn't see any trouble other than the argument mentioned above where nothing physcal happened and it was over before it had begun (so wasn't really trouble). There were about 4/5 involved in the argument (and someone made the effort to grab me for the otherside of the stand to have a go) so it probably looked worse than it was, but everyone is mates, no one was kicked out and we will be stood together as usual next week. So like I said the statement surely can't be about that.

Couple of points to add on the incident. I stand right hand side of south stand and was no more than 10 yards away from the "Salford Forever, Manchester Never" flag that appeared. Whilst I agree 100% with the sentiment and applaud the passion (and no doubt decent amount of cash invested in making the flag) I do think the aggressive manner of some of the chanting aimed at Marwan needs reining in. I also think that the club have overreacted with the tweet (unless more has gone on than has been mentioned on here). For media outlets to be publishing articles off the back of the tweet putting us in a bad light over what amounts to almost nothing is just the club shooting itself in the foot again. I'm vehemently opposed to the "rumoured" move and name change and believe it will be the final nail in the coffin but any protests need to be done in an organised, well thought out and co-ordinated way. Getting tanked up and shouting abuse at the owner isn't going to have the desired affect. I've not seen what's been posted on Twitter by "fans" of the club but I can only cringe at the thought of what it may be. Unfortunately some of our most vocal fans are ones that are unable to string together a coherent sentence and resort to purile abuse and threats as their "go-to" form of protest. Due to an emergency I can't attend tonight's meeting at the D&P but I hope to god that it's being run by someone who is able to control a heated debate and it doesn't get out of hand, as the potential is there. We weren't allowed to display the flag in the east stand so we put it up in the corner of the south. There would have been no problems if we had been allowed to put it up in the east like the 3 or 4 banners that were there. We were told by the steward that the flag was deemed offensive by Marwan and Ian Blease had asked for it to be taken down. If they wanted the flag to be taken I told them they had to give us a good reason as there is no wording on the flag that is offensive in any way, shape or form. I will be at the meeting tonight to discuss.

If Marwan and Blease are offended by it then they obviously have no idea how deeply the fans feel about OUR club. They should be more concerned if there are no protests as it would basically mean the fans really didn't give a shiny sh1te about the club and we're more than happy to be treated as pawns.

And I fully agree with your point that some of the remarks made about Koukash, probably shouldn't have been. The man certianly knows how to divide fans and even friends. Why can't he issue statement either way? All this in fighting isn't helping anyone and there's only one man to blame.

Although I still say the statement wasn't about this and there must have been more going on elsewhere that i was unaware of.

I've asked (very politely) on Twitter for an explanation, let's see what they reply with.
Still confusing as to what has been deemed so bad to have merited a statement.
